Who is your GOD?

It seems to me a lot of people throw the word GOD around with out giving it thought or meaning. They blame GOD, or attribute things to GOD. If GOD is different to different people then does GOD actually exist? Do you believe in GOD? If so is it because you were told to or because you feel GOD? or is it that you are afraid not to. Is your belief based on love or fear or what? If you don't believe in GOD what do you believe in? Is it a possibility that GOD is all of us put together? Or is GOD just a word or DOG spelled backwards?

"If GOD is different to different people then does GOD actually exist?"
Are you different things to different people? Your profile gives me no indication of who you are or where you live, but you could be a mother, a daughter, a sister, a wife, a friend, an enemy, an employer, an employee, a student - all different things to different people. So - on the same basis, do YOU exist? This is hardly a basis on which to judge the existence of anyone.
Why are there so many opinions of God?
The answer is simple. Ever since the first man and woman rebelled against God, mankind has done the same thing. Mankind, as a whole, has set himself/herself up as a god, making his own rules, determining his own way, putting himself as king of his own self. Because man was made to worship, man has designed his own form of a god, in his own fashion, after his own will and desires. Because man is an individual, we have many such gods. Some have fashioned a god to follow and some have made themselves their own god, but it is a fact that in every tribe, in every nation, man DOES follow a god of some sort.
Do I believe in God?
I didn't for the first 22 years of my life, but I have known, loved and served the Creator God, my loving heavenly Father, through the Lord Jesus Christ, for 51 of my 73 years. In that time, He has been my constant Companion, my Counsellor and Guide, my Strength and Enabler, my Challenger and Encourager, my Teacher and Friend - my EVERYTHING!
WHY do I believe in God?
Why do I believe in my loving husband to whom I have been happily married for almost 50 years? Because I KNOW Him. Because I have 50 years of EXPERIENCING His presence, his love, his provision for me and for our family. So why do I believe in God? For the same reasons. My God is just as real to me as is any living person.
Is your belief based on love or fear or what?
I think you should have gathered by now my belief is based on my experience of His presence and power in my life and how He has proven Himself over and over again. It is based on His great love for me and on my love for Him.

I do exist, for those that know me or of me, I don't exist for anyone else. Which should answer your question that GOD does not exist to everyone. There are many religions that believe in many GODS or no GOD. Do their GODS exist for you?
Not every tribe in every nation follows a GOD of some kind. GOD and Christianity has been pushed upon many tribes that knew nothing of the sort. No need to defend your GOD, if the image of a GOD, companion and counselor that exists in your mind comforts you, then good for you. The question still unanswered is Who is your GOD? I find it interesting that you think GOD is a Him.

Firstly, I did not dispute the fact that you exist. I was questioning your supposition that because different people think differently about god, it is reason to believe He doesn't exist. I fully accept that God does not exist for everyone. As I've already stated, man has designed his own god simply because he does not believe God exists.
You say that not every tribe in every nation follows a god of some sort. I don't know on what you base that statement, but history books will reveal that wherever man has encountered new peoples, they have all worshipped something, be it a mountain, an animal, the sun, the wind, a river, a waterfall, or many other things or creatures.
I must question your statement that Christianity has been "pushed" on anyone. While it could be said that the Christian religion has been pushed at various times in history, Christianity is different and depends on a personal relationship which cannot be pushed. I must also add that something that is pushed onto a people will not change them from being headhunters and cannibals into peaceful people. That is because of a change of nature brought about by a personal relationship with a living God.
I believe I have already answered who my God is. I believe in the God who created this universe and all in it. I believe in the God who has revealed Himself in His Word, the Bible. I repeat that my God is not an image that exists in my mind, but a Being who plays an integral role in my life.
Interesting that I believe God is a Him? He has declared Himself and I believe Him.

So what you are saying is your GOD is the one in the Bible that you believe in. That you believe what the Bible says. I have a hard time believing in the Bible and what it says. I feel Christianity is pushed on people. Not sure where you live but where I live it is pushed everyday. So I guess we can agree to disagree on that. No matter what you believe in even if it is not what I believe I admire your passion for it. Thanks for the conversation.

hi you have nice question. GOD spell.if you spell by thiking it simply as a word , its simply a word and also can be spelt forward or backward.
but if you spell it by thinking there some power inside that word, simply that word has a power. you can just feel it when it comes from your deep heart. Make that word as your close one or a friend and can share everything with that word. Then you can know the majestic power in that word.
If you feel your mother as a stranger, she is a stranger: if you think her as your mother or a friend then she will be like that ....
Ok take Care Byeeeeeeeeee
Regards,
Yaashmin

God is not a belief. God does exist. To find God, you must stop following and start searching, stop accepting and start questioning. God created everything. Really look around you. Discover the genius behind it all. If you can start to understand, maybe you will know where to search.

God is a power or energy which controls all the universe.. But everyone see that power in a different different shape. Ie Jesus for Christ Allah for Muslim Parashakthi for Hindus. But all these belief are in a one thing... So dont say do you believe in gods like that. Because Do you believe in your hand ? or legs?.
Its the belief which makes inspiration to live.
