With apologies to Forrest Gump. I'd been a away for a short a while and I wasn't able to join in the discussions and I thought my activities will come to a halt but when I signed in again, lo and behold, one of my posts got 96 responses which gave me a lot of more work LOL I have a couple of friends requests and additional best responses. I am absolutely overjoyed and was encouraged more.
But things are not everyday like this, I hope it is but there are times when I find some discouraging experiences that are really disappointing. Responses are slow, uncalled for comments, internet is acting up etc.
How about you my friend?
What are your encouraging and disappointing moments in mylot?

Mylot is just like a "hot chocolate" that starts my day. I am getting a more complicated work each day and I found mylot sweet inspiring like a chocolate. Here in mylot, reading useful topics energizes my whole body functions. Before, when I eat chocolate before my bed time, it gives me a good night sleep. Now that I diverted into mylotting before my bed time, I did get a better night sleep. And when I arrived in the office this morning, I feel so relaxed seeing all people smiling and greeting. I am new, but I am learning that it is so good to work in a healthy environment. I learned that even how hectic our schedules are, we should not forget to smile in the morning with our peers. I learned that heavy work should not affect our attitude. I learned now that everyday should be a good morning to all of us mylotters. Today and from now on I will start my pronouncement to make everyday a good morning!

I having the same problems too Hatley and it takes almost an hour to post a response. I may have to rest for a while till it will pick up the normal speed. It happens to me once in a while. I've always thought that cable connections are much better but it is nothing like that at all.

Welcome back, my friend. I have missed you. What an apt description of myLot!
MyLot does have many flavours. Thankfully, like chocolates, some are really enjoyed, most are liked but there are some we are not so keen on, and even some we don't like at all. (I have noticed in recent years that chocolate bars now come in a few different flavours, such as chilli. Who would have thought?)
We can pick and choose our "chocolate flavours" when we are choosing discussions, but unfortunately we do seem to get a few of those odd flavours in the comments sometimes. I have had a few "chilli" or "pepper" or "sour" or "nutty" flavoured ones lately.
So, I guess PEOPLE are like a box of chocolates too? A few hot, spicy, fiery ones? a few nutty ones? but most are thoroughly enjoyable!

Yes, I have tasted a spicy hot chocolate too and I didn't exactly like it. I taste buds associate chocolates with either a sweet or a bitter taste and spicy hot ones are not normal, at least for me. Some people in countries which are used to eating hot foods might enjoy the taste. Yes, people are like that too, some are sweet and some are not so sweet, but by and large most are thoroughly enjoyable.

It's the chocolates with the nuts in that are the hardest to cope with on here!
Somwetimes the wrappers on the chocolates lead you to think that there is something good inside and then lead to disappointment but luckily that doesnot' happen often. At least the box is never empty!
I am always thrilled to see friends return after they disappear for some reason that we are unaware of. Somw leave and tell us beforehand but others just stop posting and we know the reason even months later. That is always a happy occurance!
I have had some disappointing moments learning that friends have problems which do not come across in their discussions. Only after getting to know them better outside the discussions do they tell you the things that sadden their hearts and those are the times that I am disappointed. I would love for us all to have fewer problems but alas that is not possible.
Welcome back and I hope you have renewed enthusiasm and will be busy again!

thanks mysdianait. I like the way you said that disappointment doesn't happen often and the box is never empty. It is not everyday that we find ourselves struggling chewing the nuts. Often there are sweet ones especially when we have real friends that make this site a very worthwhile place to spend our time in inspite of a hard day's work. It can be absolutely relaxing.
Thanks for the welcome. I am still tied up for the next couple of weeks but I will sign in from time to time even if I have to use wireless broadband when I am in the workplace. It's definitely not cost effective that way for I have to spend a lot more than what I get but the time is worth.
enjoy!

Some more insightful words from mysdianait. Indeed, we cannot expect to have a website that is free of any flaws or issues. But at least we have been able to gain confidence that with mylot, the welfare of its members are protected, as well as the reputation of the site. And it is glad to see that some members are also making an effort to make this place exciting to stay in.

My friend, I saw it was reaping 77 responses on the day I commented on it having reached at that response level. It really sparked the interest of many though as you said, there were disappointing sides of it. I, too, would indeed be surprised to see such huge turnout of responses upon my return. On the side, it surely would be a lot of work to face but they are an encouragement. With the good and not-so-good responses (those not reading between the lines and outrightly criticized a certain culture's practice), life has to go on ... expect more boxes of chocolates to open before your eyes here. With me, all you can get are boxes of malunggay chocolates (hey, they are chocolates, just the same, hahahahaha).

Well the 77 has gone up to 96 already which gave me a lot of homework to do making comments. I may have to spend a day. LOL
Another business proposition? Malunggay chocolates, why not? our kinamot and tiniil have not gotten off the ground yet. Hahaha!
Yes it is really very difficult to stay from mylot for a long time and I find myself thinking of mylot even at work. Those wonderful comments keep ringing in my mind especially this good old and humble malunggay.

Yes, I see that ... 96 and still going (no, not age, hahaha). That surely is the right boost after a short "hibernation". I can say that it is an achievement and for that, congrats, my friend! Don't mind the homework that goes along with it. That is the most enjoyable part. Welcome back, we surely missed you.

Hello Manong05 and welcome back. Love this site but not sure how to get more people to respond to my discussions, that is a little disappointing. But I have found that I earn more by responding to others discussions so that is encouraging. I have a few friends on this site and that is nice to have. Wow 96 responses that is great. Hope your back for a long time now. Have a great day!

When I posted that topic, I was not expecting to generate that much responses but as it is, we really don't know what we are going to get. LOL I might have to join mylot in a much limited time because of job committments but I can't afford not to stay way that long. I enjoy this a lot and I don't have any other other sites I work on. I feel more relaxed when I spend my time interacting with people here.
enjoy!

I agree, sometimes MyLot is surprising and some days I dread logging on. One thing that I like is when people give good reasoned responses, not just clever little sound bites. I know that in some way this is the society we live in...just wrapped up in neat little sound bites.

Well, having ninety six responses for one of your discussions would definitely be a nice surprise! I know that you can get upset if it's a slow day and you don't get alot of responses, but that might just be cause there aren't many people active on mylot at the time or people aren't interested in that particular discussion. Uncalled comments aren't always nice, if they are abusive, but if the person is just saying there opinion, then it's fine with me.
I do absolutely hate when my internet is playing up though and it's being really slow!! I don't really have discouraging moments in mylot, or maybe I just can't remember them. Everything here for now is positive for me at the moment.

Hi, Manong! Welcome back!
I'll have to go and have a look for that discussion now! It seems to have been popular.
I think sometimes you have to have a tough skin on here, but I'm like you - I've had mostly good experiences here.
Well, I'll let you get on with your work! Sounds like you'll have about a weeks worth! Lol!

Disappointing indeed and there are times, frustrating to the point of ruining our day and our concentration to contribute more quality ones. Well, I guess that is something we have to expect in a forum like this one where there are different users with different values and character traits. The good thing is, they are far outnumbered by the good ones.
enjoy!

myLot is really like a box of chocolates and we should work hard everyday through our efforts if one want to eat more than others.
One reaps no more than what he has sown. Here, if one want to earn much more money through posting responses and discussions, you will never give up or then you won't get any earnings. I have to say that all people are equal on myLot, under the algorithm of myLot, everyone who want to cheat here will be found and get deserved punishment.
Sometimes, I may get tired of posting responses everyday, then I will cappy on the career here after a simple adjustion.

Yes our income here is directly proportional to the effort we put in. If we always do our homework, then well in good. There may be rouge users who want to beat the system but it doesn't work that way. You are one of the most active users here getbrowser, good work.
enjoy!

Welcome back! Nice to hear that you have had so many responses. Am interested to know which question it was. Yes. You are right. Every day is not Sunday! You are comparing this forum to a box of chocolates which means whatever your experience chocolate it is!!! Have you never had bitter experiences which are expected here sometimes? Tell us about them.

Thanks allknowing. The topic was about whether we sometimes use fingers for eating rather than using spoon and fork. I never expected that a great majority will find that an interesting topic.
Well I can say that the bitter moments are mostly when receiving comments that obviously the one who responded did not actually read the contents and jump to conclusions immediately in a criticizing manner. I wish they could have at least read the contents and the previous responses before judgmental. Anyway, this is a fact that we sometimes have to face in mylot. It is indeed a box of chocolates, some sweet like our favs and some are bitter, but nevertheless, same chocolates.

Well, I think that in a lot of ways this is the truth when coming in here and posting. You never know what you're going to get. The same when you respond back to others discussions, and when you start New discussions as well. You end up meeting so many vass variety of people here and some become Great friends here as well. I know personally that is one of the many reasons I enjoy being here, and would not want to be anywhere else as well.

well, the most disappointing is the system failure of my internet connection is slow sometimes and the traffic here in my lot make the sites so slow and find it a hard time to post and to comments, as most of the times because of computer glitch. my lot really is a great place to hang on and serious discussion with have something to do to make my mind work on is good for me as it enables me to think logically and response with sense to topics as well as to my own discussion.

Hi manong, I didn't realise you'd been having problems with responses on your cutlery or not one, hope they weren't too bad. Stick it out with your commenting though, I got over 120 the other day but only a few were a bit off which suprised me from that number. A tip for how to deal with the bad ones is this . Try it.

Hello thea. I don't exactly have problems, it's just that commenting takes a long time but I will devote time to that. I am afraid that my participation in mylot will be a lot less now due to some job committments but I hate to be away for long.
I love this site.
cheers!

Yes I have had all of these disappointments and a little bit of overjoyed moments to make up for them. Some days are certainly better than others. I think we mylotters all have similar brains and are all busy at about the same time. For the few who are on here, sometimes thats me, it seems like you are on an island all by yourself. And then other days you get comments after 15 seconds. By the way 96 responses wow you go!
