Do you think that money can buy happiness?

I have always pondered this question. On one hand I realize that we have obvious basic needs such as shelter, food, clothing, etc. however in modern day America it is obvious that there are vast inequalities in the distribution of wealth. I would even argue that money can aid one in feeling more safe and secure as well.
It is interesting though that no matter how much money you have there are certain things that money simply cannot buy. You can try to buy friends but they will not actually be real friends. You can buy a huge house with all of the material possessions you can find but that will only keep you satisfied for so long. At the end of the day I think that it's easy to think that money can buy happiness since so many of us seem to love our stuff so much.

I agree with you.
I do not think money can buy happiness. Money is not the solution to all the problems and it does not fill in every empty feeling a person has. It can certainly make life comfortable, but is not enough not for a person's satisfaction. For example, a family can go to a dream vacation together because they could afford it. They can have fun and be happy if there is love and respect among them. But if they hate each other, even if they go to beautiful places, then I do not think they would even have a good time.
