Would you let your 15 year old child attend a high school party?

Recently my child was invited to a high school party by one of his friends. The party was at a person's house that was a friend of a friend. I told my child they they could not attend. Apparently several of their friends who are the same age go to parties all the time. I am not comfortable with my child going to those kind of parties at 15. Would you let your child go? Do I just have a severe case of Mama Bear Syndrome?

I always meet the parents to ensure that there will be adult supervision all of the time. But the fact that it is a friend of a friend I would probably say no.

Well, that's a tough one. Me being a parent of a 20 year old now, there were quite a few things that i did not allow my child to do, cause i wanted to protect them, but i have also learned to ask a lot of questions, like who is going to be there, what type of party, phone numbers and where they live, but i guess it all comes down to,is you have to trust your child's decisions. Your hoping that you have brought them up knowing right from wrong and that they will be make the right decisions. They may actually surprise you. Times you thought they were not listening to your advice, later on you find out that they have. I know that is a tough decision, your just being a mom.

Hmmm, a friend of a friend? That seems a little untrustworthy. I agree with you, you shouldn't let him go, he/she seems really to young for that.
