I grew up near the ocean, but unfortunately I am really not an ocean person. It's too hot and sticky. When I married we raised out children in the mountains. I love the mountains. They are so regal and beautiful. There isn't a season there I don't enjoy. The landscapes are every changing. It can be so peaceful and serene sitting on the mountain side looking out over the lands. There is so much to see if you take the time to look. In the summer it's still cool enough you can get out and enjoy it, and there are tons of winter activities. I am a mountaineer at heart. Where do you prefer?

Hi wlee, I have both to choose from, I live close to the sea and need to cross a mountain to get to the town, which is then also by the sea. Then if I carry right on my man lives part way up another mountain with the sea about 20 minutes drive away. This is more touristy at this end so I love the other side and the differences, the lack of new building and the sense of a place which is still much more traditionally Greek. When the heat is unbearable here it can be perfect there, and although it will be colder in the winter it will be a fresher cold rather than a damp cold. It's hard to decide between the two but I love the feeling of getting away when I go there.

Giving a chance to live somewhere I prefer to live in the mountain because I want clean air and I want that kind of environment. I'm born in the city and the air now here is now polluted. I want also to live near the sea but I worried a lot about the typhoons because we always have typhoon here.

I think there is not really an answer from my side, I would like both of them. But still I'm thinking which one and probabily I'd choose the ocean, it is more relaxing for me, hot, warm...mmm...I really love beach towns, I always dreamt to live in one of those small beach towns. So guess the answer for me is ocean.

It is really interesting to hear the different views. All my family are ocean people - they love the heat, the water and the sunshine. My immediate family are mountain people - we love the lushness of the forest mixed with the convenience of modern living. It's beautiful in every season of the year. I get really homesick in the fall because I miss natures leaf color show.

This would be a really tough choice for me. I've lived in a city not close to either. So i'd want like a combination if that were possible :P
I love the idea of living by a mountain. I prefer cold over heat. Plus the whole picture that forms in my mind of a place near a mountain, the adventures and picnics and outdoor parties that can be held.. :D

Hi W,
I preferred to stay or live in the mountains. It is more safer than living in the ocean. I was exposed to living in the mountains with our local people and life there is so simple and very peaceful. I want to grow old with my husband in the mountains where i will enjoy the nature and its fruits!

The sea would be my answer despite the humidity. I love the sea because I feel so free. I was raised near a coastal area and every weekend, we would often go to the beach. In contrast, the altitude in the mountains makes me sick. I was living for 5 years in La Paz, Bolivia. You can't get any more mountains than this. It is the highest capital in the world, 4000 meters. I often got altitude sickness and had difficulties sleeping. Which is not to say that the mountains are not beautiful. My view from the kitchen was the snow-capped mountains of the Illimani and that was fantastic! I just could not live up so high.

I prefer to live in the mountain for water just is not my element. I like the cool climate of the highlands and I definitely love the view from up there. I love trekking so that could be a plus as well.
However, I really think that water is not my element. I do not like the waves under my feet. But yes, I do love the beach, but not to live in it.
So I guess, Id rather be a highlander.

I would love to live by the ocean cause I love the breeze that it brings you, and I love to take walks in the sand, lay out, and watch the sun go down, but I love the mountains I have lived around mountains and you really can't get anywhere as fast as you need to like if something was to happen but I like both of them actually.

I have passed the prime of my youth and have grown tired of life in the concrete jungle the city provides with all the accompanying noise and pollution. Given a chance I would like to live on a mountain with all the modern amenities. It's nice to be in touch with the rest of the world whilst living in a remore place. It makes me close to nature and it might lengthen my life a little bit, I suppose.

I grew up in the mountains but I have never seen the sea so far.
When I was very young, I remember that there were mountains on every side in my hometown. Deep in my book, it was hard to get over the muddy road everytime when I wen to the city for study. Yes, there, the location was not convenient for lack of decent public transport. So, if I have some chances to make a decision, I prefer to living in ocean.
In my eyes, I can enjoy a better life there although I has not been a ocean person.
