How to promote your web page and get top rated???

Hello, people. I recently started my own web page, and I have many problems with promoting it!
For start my web page is not indexed yet, and it`s been months now. I cannot find it in any of serch engines. I dont know how googlebots work, and why my page is not indexed yet, although I saw the googlebot IP adress in my web site statistics!
Ok. I decided to wait, and while waiting what can I do?
Should I promote my site on some PTC pages... I have some accounts on such!
Should I send emails to friends, and their friends friend
Or do I need more links and affiliate banners to put on my site?
You get the idea right!
So comon webmasters and other expert people, please help me to make best of my webpage, give me some expert advice or exsample!

If you manage to produce some useful content and people starts to post your links on their websites or forums, you will definitely see a sharp rise in traffic. This will be a good start to promote your website and get it top rated.

You would need to list yourself in as many directories as you can. Make sure your website has meta tags otherwise you won't been seen in search engines. I suggest you go over to http://2createawebsite.com Lisa has a guide on how you can effectively promote your website. Familiarize yourself with Search Engine Optimization.
