US health reform - is it really for the people or for democrats only?

The US health reform bill took one step up from the Congress to the Senate, with the overpowering vote of the Democrats (led by Pelosi) to pass this bill. Public option is available, but will it really do anything for us as taxpayers? Will it really promote competition amongst the health insurance companies and make it more affordable and available to everyone? I'm scared. Are you?

Yes we are scared. This is not what we want, and it's being forced on us. I'm sure it will be stopped in the senate. We don't need any more government in our lives.
