Have you ever tried meeting in person with someone that you have met online?

I am thinking about meeting this girl in person that i met on msn, but i am having second thoughts about it. What do you think about that, should i go ahead? And have you ever done something like this?

i would never meet someone i didn't know who i met online thats so dangerous and it could be anyone pretending to be a girl tho she may be real and perfectly innocent she could also really be a big crazy serial killer that just wants to get your guard down with the girl disguise. so i guess if you must meet this person make sure its in a public place with many people around and bring a friend if she has a problem with either of those conditions then don't do it you could get raped or killed or both ewww.

My friend's brother paid for his own ticket to go to Las Vegas and meet a girl he met online but she never showed up. When he tried to talk to her online again, she blocked him. So... I guess you'll just have to take chances. But keep in mind the girl that you met might be a guy or an 80 year old lady or something.
