I just cant believe it is like nearly Christmas already! It only seems like yesterday i was sat with family eating Christmas dinner and its nearly here again! Is anyone ready for Christmas yet or do you not bare thinking about it? It does seem that the actual point of Christmas has been lot amongst the money grabbing, prezzy selling people doesnt it! I mean if you was to ask a child what Christmas was about, presents and Santa Would come first and Jesus would likely come nearer to last! At least the primary/elementary schools are still doing nativity plays but even they have seemed to miss the point a bit. Sorry im ranting now haha! What do people think? And are you prepared for Christmas? Tell us your thoughts.

People says Christmas is about the Birth of Jesus. But if you check bible, nothing about Christmas nor about December 25. Have u found anything about Santa in Bible? I think it's made by some comic artists to depict the Father.
Have a happy and nice time. !
Peace.

Lol, ask the church people, they might have made their own laws.
I heard some people saying it came from the Winter Solace of Pagans. I think pagans also celebrating the same thing but with a different name and it is no where related to Jesus for them.

Thats very interesting that it may have come from the Pagan society, i didnt think the church community had anything to do with Pagans.

Not think am very sure that Jesus Christ will come first because He is the only ways that lead to heaven and without Him no one can enter the kingdom of God

Not ready for Christmas yet but hope to be soon, just noticed a neighbour has put on the lights. Kids may not understand that Christmas is about Jesus yet but with continuous teaching and maturity, they will know

Yes it seems like yesterday when we celebrated Christmas I can't believe how past the days go by. Some people doesn't happy if they don't have money during Christmas but for me it doesn't important as long as I'm with my family and we are all together even if we don't have food. Christmas is about Jesus we should not forget it.

Christmas means different things for different people. It also depends on your religion I think. Those agnostic people would probably be more inclined to celebrate the gift of giving instead of the birth of Christ. As for Jesus or Santa, if you were Christian, you'd say Jesus. If you weren't, I think you'd say Santa.

Well it is a bit of both, even though it depends where you are living. Where I live the schools still do nativity plays BUT the minds of the kids are on Santa. It is the parents fault of course. Shops are trying to get a bigger and bigger share of this huge pie called Christmas that is why we see christmas displays as early as October. Can't blame them. Some live for the spending of the christmas season. It is so commercialised.

It is obviously about both. While it does start to as a religious holiday it has grown into a secular holiday that even non-Christians celebrate. You really cannot deny either one way of celebrating the Christmas season.
I do think a lot of people go overboard with the presents and decorations though.

Its a shame its become all about the money though, but the good thing is that it seems to bring family together.

Hi loneraver,
Of course it is about Jesus Christ! It's his date of birth! Well not exactly his date of birth but, it is the main reason of the celebration. While Santa Claus is an added bonus to make kids see how fun and beautiful it is to celebrate Christmas.

Trouble is where i live if people are quite well off they spoil their kids and kinda defeat the object as we should be teaching them that its more about giving aswell.
