I hit 300 pounds yesterday and I'm not happy! I know must of it has to do is I just eat to much, not a balance diet and I don't do alot of exercise! Getting older isn't helping either! I feel out of control! I need to something soon or I will get fatter and fatter! I don't want to be one of these extremely morbid people's who end up bed ridden and have to be taken cared of! I have battled this problem most of my life! Over the 12 years alot worse! I had the end of my rope!

Hi bluepacker, I think that's about 150 kilos which is way too much. You have to start making real changes and dieting does not work, you just yo-yo. I've never had to deal with this but see a lot of people who do and you just have to change your eating habits. Also in one of the series of Australia's biggest loser which is addictive, there was one man on who weighed about the same as you but couldn't exercise madly as he had a health problem and he consistently lost kilos each week just be walking, along with a healthy diet. Start walking a half hour a couple of times a day and then build it up each day, it absolutely made a difference for that man.
Also having a healthy diet does not mean boring or does not mean the end to chocolate and chips forever, just now and then in moderation. At the very least cut out all those crap sodas and replace with water, liven it up with mint leaves or a slice of lemon, start small like that if it is all too overwhelming. Don't put it off until you can afford to see a dr. Do you have a friend who also wants to lose weight, walk together and encourage each other. Your 300 should be a turning point to reverse it.
Why not reply with a list of what you eat on an average day, that will make you look and see if we can put some changes in. One of the problems is you live in a culture where it is the norm to be overweight.

There is more to my weight problem then meets the eye! I know I need to eat healthy and exercise to start with! I need to see a doctor but I wasn't clean on that! I need to see a therapist, counselor or somebody in mental health! Some of eating issues are do to emotions! Especially dealing with lonliness, feeling deprived and lacking love! Food is comfort to me in some ways and that is my biggest eating problem! That I can't do on my own! That is where the help will come in! I don't expect you or anyone to understand my weight problem! NO ONE DOES!

food is comforting, i think you are on the right lines about seeing a counsellor - i think you need to find a way to deal with your emotions without a crutch. even before you do this is there anything else that makes you feel better that you could maybe do instead of eating? even really simple things like a nice bath or a walk somewhere beautiful can be uplifting.

Hello. I weigh 265 and am only 5'0". As you can tell, I am quite overweight. There was a time when I was just going up. And I gained 180 pounds in 6 years. It was and still is sad and scary. But I have to not let things get out of control, mainly my emotions too. Because if those get carried away, then I will get carried away eating! If you think that you should be eating a certain way, then even if the doctors don't agree, or other people, you can try to do it. Like some people say you should get a rounded meal if you are even to lose weight. But I don't think so in some cases.
I don't know. Maybe there is something that you want to do. If you want to write a story, you should try. And also read about tips on how to. Or if you want to try to do something else, another hobby. Getting your mind off your problems may be a help.
It also may be worth it to talk to some people. But you don't have to be recessive when you talk. Telling them what you need to tell them can be a way of starting a relationship "with the world." Especially as they all want you to lose weight, like I have found out. Even my family. Sometimes I have to be narly and give them some Emotions!!!

I do talk to some friends. I don't do it alot because they get judgemental sometimes! I don't like that and then there are the ones who rather not listen at! So I battle this problem alone alot! Forget family! They don't understand me and don't care to! So I do it alone, alot! In the past two weeks I have stared walking a few days a week and woatching what I eat. I have a problem with to much of the wrong foods! I work in a college kitchen and it is easy to get all the wrong things! So I eat to much deep fryed foods, pasta and other stuff! I won't give up antything but less of it! That is one thing i'm doing! I'm also eating else and trying to eat more friuts and vegs which I have never been a big fan of! It is more of a life style change then anything else!

Obesity is a serious health concern. We all must take this problem seriously, this is not something to play with. As you have probably heard, Obesity can lead to Diabetes, Heart problems, strokes, high blood pressure and the list goes on and on.
Have you consulted a doctor? We all must be careful of the hype out there about fast weight loss with questionable products. Quite a few of these products have been banned by the FDA. However, some just change their labels and continue offering to the public.
Think in terms of small success, you did not gain this weight overnight. So, if you are really concerned and want to do something about your weight, I would like to share with you a program where actual studies and actual clinical trials and real proof from real people have successfully lost weight, even 100 pounds. This is weight loss without losing muscle, which is very important.

Aww, I hope you solve the problem! For most people, losing weight is hard to manage. Don't be discouraged by this fact though! Anyone can lose weight with enough determination. Maybe try to cut junk food? If it helps, I wrote an article a while ago on eHow on how to stop eating junk food. http://www.ehow.com/how_5191027_stop-being-junk-food-junkie.html
