Baffled parents desperate to know exactly why their baby is crying can now get the answer in ten seconds from their mobile phone. The Cry Translator involves a revolutionary technology that quickly identifies an infant's cry, based on one of five emotional or physiological states: hunger, fatigue, annoyance, stress or boredom, Developed and launched by a company in Barcelona the demand has been phenomenal since it was featured on American television! Parents are told to simply place their iPhone about a foot from the crying baby and touch the 'Start' button. The cries are analyzed and identified within the 10-second window with a 96 per cent degree of accuracy . Once the cry has been identified, tips to calm the infant are provided. Talking about ease of use and user friendliness. Sure is a candidate for the Nobel, here. I know cell phones and iPhones are getting very popular and it seems like everyone has one these days, and they have so many apps it is not funny, and they have apps for about anything you could possibly need, and I am not sure why anyone would want an app to tell you why a baby is crying, and you think parental instinct would kick in and tell you why a baby is crying, and an app to tell you why a baby is crying is something only a lazy parent would want or need, and I hope when me and my wife have kids,we will be able to tell why they are crying without needing a silly gadget to tell us.

hellcowboy, I really admire your statement and effort to be able to tell from your baby's cries without the need of any gadget. But, let me set a poser, just how do you think parents get their experiences from? Endless painstaking efforts, accompanied by panics, first time jitters, panic? I think it is just synonymous with every first time experiences and that will include your first born. So, I just feel that it will be a good confidence booster for first time parents. Besides, as babies can be different your second may not be similar to that of your first - hence this cry translator would just come in handy. Technology is to help us be it our lifestyle, environment or even people and I do not think being resourceful is making anyone a lazy or bad parent, literally. Have a nice day.

No two babies are the same, and even with that in mind a parent knows what their baby needs when they cry even if they are new parents since I think knowing is just part of being a parent, just like they say mothers know everything which I think is true, and a the app is just unneeded and a waste of money and there is no guarantee it would work since the computers and crap like that messes up and there is no guarantee it would be able to tell what every baby was crying about,so parental instincts are a whole lot better and more important.

A parent should know what their babies cry means. What happened to the age old just knowing by the schedule the baby is on, or just by knowing? Well, I'm not a fan of the Iphone, so I guess that's why I feel the way I do... but even so, it's making a lazier mama and papa bear.

SomeCowgirl, I don't suppose any good parents will want to be heavily dependent on this gadget to become poor parents but I feel that it will be good confidence booster for first time parents. I am sure that you will remember what it is like being trust into parenting where everything is a first. First wail and then....guess? frown? run around like a headless chicken? In the first place, I am sure you will agree with me that technology is to help us be it our lifestyle, environment or even people - I just see this cry translator helping out new parents learn, discern and aid their first new born. I just do not see any parent wanting to become lazy or bad parents. Take care and have a nice day.
