My son has finally joined our family!

I'm talking about our myLot family. Yep, he finally decided that it's pretty cool here. Now, I'm talking about my wayward son, the youngest, the one I'm still scratching my head over. Maybe I shouldn't even mention that he's my son because he can be controversial but, well, he's a pretty cool kid. (He's 25 but will always be my baby.) So, if you see CaptHowdy410 around, say hi for me. Welcome to myLot, kiddo! Now we'll see if he has my genes or his father's. If he gets addicted to myLot, he's most definitely my son. To make this a discussion, do you have family members here? Are they active? Do they embarrass you sometimes?

Hello everyone, it's me the "wayward son". I find it funny that she called me that. because my biological father called me "the prodigal son" lol. I suppose I am the black sheep of the family. I don't understand how I'm embarrassing though. I'm just eccentric :) Well on any note, its good to meet you all and i look forward to being part of many future discussions. LOVE YOU MOM!!!

hello howdy, it doesn't matter what kind of life you have outside mylot as long as you don't hate or hurt other members here, that would be fine for us. am glad she persuade you to join in this site, you won't regret joining in here but i hope you won't get bored since a lot has been and a few come back. probably some had trouble really getting along to this site and earning but just focus on fun and you may never know if you're earning big or not. have a great day

THERE'S my little boy! Hiya keedo! Glad to see you've joined us here! Voldrox, I won't be any more shy than I am normally (which is not very shy, I must say) because my son is here. He and I have pretty much identical mindsets, as you can probably see by his response here. LOL

ha ha ha ha ha... I have been trying to get people I know in real life to join mylot. And boy is that an uphill task! I cannot even get my wife to come onboard! Sigh... now you will have another fellow mylotter to chit-chat with! I wished more of my friends and family will join. Then we can at the very least keep in touch by looking up each other's threads and discussions! ha ha ha ha ha... lucky you mentalward! Lucky you! PS: I see you got a new avatar! Sweet!

I know about that uphill task, ahgong! I have 4 referrals and only one of them was active for a little while but has disappeared. This son who just joined didn't join under me and he's more active than the others! Figures, huh? I'm not sure if I'll want to see all his discussions, though. It might scare me to know exactly what's in his mind. But, we've always had very open communication so the most I'll probably be is embarrassed. He's done that to me since he was a baby. My avatar is just a thing I was playing with, I cartooned myself, kind of. I'd love to find a program that allows us to turn real photos into drawing-like pictures. I had one once but it disappeared. This is just the closest I was able to come to myself. My hair isn't that red but it's the closest they had. Also, I don't look quite that young anymore.

hi marti. i'm so glad to hear that you finally convinced your dear son to join us here. it's really good to see another member of the family that is actively joining our discussions. i hope he will be another mylot addict in the making. lol i had convinced my two sisters to join mylot. but unfortunately, they are not active. the one stopped after posting only over a hundred. the other never posted one. but i am proud to say that i found one good friend and co-worker, who became one of the most popular member not only for the newbies, but also to some older members. i am sure you know janebeth.

Hi Neil. Yes, I know janebeth and I'm happy to call her a friend. She's a very interesting person and has some great discussions that I always look forward to reading. My other son joined awhile ago but has not posted once. He's not much of a "people-person". My youngest, now, he loves interacting with people. I hope he gets to know you and your family as well as I have. I feel like your family is part of my family and, to me, nothing is more important than family! How's that little nephew of mine? (I called yesterday and was assured that I'll be receiving very good news very soon!)

LOL I can't blame you about the in-laws! I only have 2 sister-in-laws and a brother-in-law but am only in touch with one sister-in-law. I wouldn't want her becoming a member here, nor would I want my husband to become a member! Oh, man! Well, most of what I've said here about him, I've also talked to him about so he wouldn't be surprised. But, my sister-in-law isn't high up on the I.Q. chain so I doubt I have to worry about her joining. My husband is pretty anti-social, so I don't think he'll ever join. Well, that's not quite true. He did join because he was trying to get in touch with me when he was in Chicago and I didn't have messenger on. He had no cell phone reception so he was trying to find me here. His username here is "mentalforward" (mental for ward, corny, huh?) but he's not active. I'm sure his account will be deleted soon if it hasn't been already.

The scary thing is that he's very much like me! He wears his own jeans, though. He's close to 6 feet tall and I'm a puny 5'2". My jeans would look like extreme highwaters on him. The only major difference between him and me is that he's of the younger generation and THEY SCARE ME! He's always open to try new things, even if us old fogies would think they were dangerous or just plain stupid. I have no doubt that I'll be embarrassed by him here once or twice but that's nothing unusual. I'm used to being embarrassed by him. It started when he was maybe 2 years old and has continued, non-stop, since then. Still, I'm proud of him. He has an incredibly inventive mind with quite an imagination. When he was 3, he drew a kind of stick man, then took scissors and cut up between the legs and down both sides of the head. He showed me why. His stick man could then "walk" and "nod" his head. That's pretty cool for a 3-year-old! (I still have that stick man drawing in my cedar chest.) My oldest son likes the tried and true method of getting through life. My youngest always has his head somewhere light years away trying on new thoughts or ideas. In a short story I wrote about him ("Living With A Young Tornado") one line said, "His speed-of-light ideas are always getting tangled up with his feet..." He's always been kind of clumsy (like his mom) and I'm convinced it is because he's thinking so far ahead of himself. I'm happy to see him here. I'm so proud of him! Thanks for the welcome. I'll warn... err... tell him all about you!

I appreciate the comeback, er waring, and look forward to your youngest's ideas. One only hopes though, that he doesn't TYPE faster than the speed of light. Old "fogie"? (ahem) Indeed. cdrxo

That's wonderful news, winterose! I'm so happy for you! I know how it feels when we don't see loved ones for awhile and how good it feels when we do see them. I hope you and your grandson grow a deep, loving relationship and that he's always close enough for you to see him often. I keep telling my sons that I want grandchildren but I guess they're not ready yet. Well, it would help if they found the right women first, too. They're taking after their mom, I guess. I had my kids when I was 29 and 31. My kids are 28 and 25 now and have no kids of their own (that they know of, anyway). Enjoy the time with your grandson. I'm so glad that he wants to see his grandmom so often!

That's so cool....welcome to mylot from me and I'm sure all of us. It's cool that we have another extra addition to mylot family. For people around me like family and friends, I've told them about the lot but they seem not to be so interested, LOL. I don't know why; maybe they have not tried, so they don't know the addictive part of it.

They have lived with me off and on for the past 5 years. Right now, both of my sons are living together in a house on the other side of town, only about 12 miles from here. Unfortunately, the dummy signed up on his own and not from my referral link so he's not one of my referrals. Oh, well. At least he's making a little bit of money. He got so excited on his second day here because he earned 20 cents his first day. I don't know how well he's doing now because I haven't asked but he tells me he is still active, just not a lot. He's really into video games. I've tried to tell him that they don't earn him any money but, well, he's young yet. He'll learn the value of earning money, especially once he's paying all his own bills if he ever gets his own place.

Hi marti, my son wants to come on here too but there are rules against 10 year olds which I think is a bit unfair as he did put 2 discussions up months ago when I was in the shower and no one noticed the difference. So are you going to have CaptHowdy on your friends list? You do reaise he'll be able to read things you put up on here so there will be no more trolling around for you in the 'aren't children annoying interest'. I'll certainly say hello if I see him.
@mentalward (14690)

10 Nov 09
HAHAHAHAHA! Actually, thea, he knows I talk about how annoying children can be. He knows he's annoying sometimes! We've always had a very open relationship. They've always been able to talk to me about anything and I've rarely hid anything from them... only the most private stuff. My son will take anything I might say with a grain of salt and vice versa. Actually, we think a lot alike so, if I join in a discussion about how annoying kids are, he'll probably be there saying pretty much the same things. LOL Yeah, he's on my friends list. He and I have had some very interesting discussions. As a matter of fact, more than once we were driving somewhere together and I've completely missed a turn because we were enjoying the conversation so much. I have no doubt that he will embarrass me from time to time but he's done that since he was about two years old so it's nothing new. He keeps his old mom on her toes! I also agree with you about the age thing but I guess it's because most 10-year-olds aren't as mature as some. Since your son posted 2 discussions and no one noticed that he was a 10-year-old, I'd have to assume you have a very mature son! Of course, we could always argue the point that some adults aren't mature at all. I've seen my share of that type here!

As you've recommended him so highly I'll pop into your profile and send him a F/R Marti. It's good that you can get on so well. Mine is at the age where he can come out with some incredibly insightful things and witty conversation, but can still be boyishly annoying, which he loves to be. The other thing mine did whilst I was away from the computer was add all his favourite interests which I had to then remove again, not sharing his interests in computer games, Jackie Chan and football. He knows not to touch it anymore or Mama will get banned but he did get some responses to his discussons and then had to dictate the answers to me.

I think it's going to be fun seeing what my son has to say. Well, HOPEFULLY it will be fun and not embarrassing. LOL I just hope he thinks I've been a good mom to him all these years! I've slowed down since I first joined here, mostly because there are just too many other things to do, but I have to check in at least once a day. I know that not everyone is as into myLot or other social networking places as I am so I don't expect anything. I just hope he enjoys it here. That is very cool! No, none of my family members are members of mylot, and it's probably better that way. I don't think I would feel as free to say things about my life if they were also members. And I don't mean if I were talking bad about them. More like if I were upset about something, and I didn't want them to worry. I wouldn't be able to hide it from them.

I just made a friend request! I like the name, he must be a horror movie fan! I don't have family members here, although I'd like to. I hope your son has your sense of humor--I don't mind controversial, in fact I prefer it. Controversy makes me think and challenges my opinions.

Cool, dragon! You are very correct about the horror movie thing. Yep, he loves them. I think I may have started that. When my boys were young, we'd watch horror movies on TV and I'd explain how fake everything was so they wouldn't be scared. He's been pretty hooked on them his whole life. He went to see that new movie, Paranormal Activities, and told me that it's a good thing I didn't go because it's pretty scary. I took his word for it. LOL He most definitely has my sense of humor. That's one thing I'm very proud of. His brother, my oldest son, we've always said was born "an old man". He had very little of a sense of humor. He's gotten better, thank goodness, but he's just not in the same category as my youngest son and me. He'll give you some controversial things to think about, that's for sure. He just told me (via IM) that he thinks he's really going to like it here. I'm glad!

I don't have any family members here, but I've tried to encourage some of my family members to come and play with me. They, of course, just think that I am silly. They don't realize that mylot gives me a sense of sanity that I didn't have during the day before I came here. I could, however, guarantee that if I did have family members that came here to play, they would more than likely embarass me in some way, shape or form.

Hahahaha! I'm sure I'll be embarrassed but I'm embarrassed by him in real life so it's nothing new. It took me a good year to get him to join. My oldest son joined awhile ago but has not been active at all. This son just told me that he really likes it here. He usually has plenty to say so I'm sure he'll enjoy himself. I know he'll like the money part... earning some spending money for just talking. MyLot has helped me to keep my sanity, too. If everyone we knew realized just how much myLot helps us and keeps us from having to see a shrink, maybe they'd join, too.
