The Merge
What a wonderful relief for Foa Foa as they were able to go from having nothing to going to a camp where they had everything. This was a perfect time for them to merge. However, I do not believe that it will fair well with them in the near future. Actually I do not think that it fairs well with the men on either tribe. But that is a discussion for another date.
The Black Mamba Strikes
Yes we are speaking of Russell. He has done a fantastic job of manipulating the people on both sides. There is a problem though. He had to reveal too much too quick. It caused him to loose the edge he once had. So the key is in his ability to win at least one immunity challenge. I do not think he will be able to talk his way through this. And with the immunity idol flushed out that could be a big issue.
The Turning tides…are pink?
Our infamous women in the group are getting ready to dominate the rest of the game. It is just a matter of time before they have the numbers and the men will be out of luck. The men at this time need to take the initiative and get rid of either Laura or Monica. They end up controlling the game if the guys are not careful.
The Great Scramble
I do not recall in Survivor History such a mad rush at the end trying to figure out who is going home. I think a lot it has to do with the fact that up until right now, no one was really playing the games except Russell. Now everyone had to make plans that were not made before. It made for a very exciting last 15 minutes and a great blind side.
Final Four
I realize that the previews for the next show are giving hints that Russell H is the next to go, but more often than not the previews are misleading. So I think Russ may be safe for yet another week. Right now they are down to 11 members. 4 original Foa Foa and 7 Original Galu members.
I have revised my final 4:
Russell H
Dave
Monica
Shambo
WHOA! Big Change. I think Russell will grab Shambo and bring her along. Monica will skim by and Dave is just a good player.

I am shocked...I can't believe they got rid of Erik...and can't believe that Russel got rid of his immunity idol. WOW! Why the heck did he do that...the first dumb move he has done all season so far.
When I was watching the game they were competing in, Russel in the lead, and Monica the last one to come in...I felt what was exactly going to happen - Monica was going to beat out the girls, and Russel would lose his lead....and how dissapointing it was to see that happen. I wanted Monica out as badly as he did.
It looks bad for next week - week 9 also, as they showed Russel in complete turmoil on what to do, and some girls talking about how devious Russel is. I so much want him to win! But it is possible that they show us something that ends up the complete opposite.
I can't say that I know the other team as well...since they have concentrated on FoaFoa for so long. So glad to see them merged so we can finally get to know them.
My pics so far... 4 girls at the end! If the girls keep with this trend, they will be getting rid of all the guys.

I agree with you on the final four. The only issue I have is that I do not believe that the girls are unified enough to pull it off. However, if Galu starts voting off the Foa Foa tribe that will put the girls in a power position. I think the Galu guys will see that before it is too late. But you never know.

doubleloveyou,
Russell, the Black Mamba? I think this time he has really done himself in and his anxiety has got the better of him which led to his premature release of the hidden immunity idol.
Just as I had expected that he would be careless on the merge and I think he is really going to be in all sorts on the next episode. I just hope that your pick here will not let the brutal conditions overwhelm him and that lady luck will be on his side to win individual immunity or be successful with his attempts to form his alliances.
I just do not know what was going on with Eric's mind that he could be so over confident and cocky. It was really an expected blindside on him and rightfully so, although it should have been Laura or Monica or even Natalie.
For a while, I thought the Galu were taking things a little too personal when they have already merged. Yet, I was just glad that things did turn around especially when Uncle Murphy appeared for the ousting of Laura who won individual immunity and so timely too.
I hate to say this but I feel that Russell's days are numbered especially when he had been exposed about his revealing of having the immunity idol to rally people into his camp. Now, that his immunity idol had been flushed out - I think it just looks even more bad for him.
Anyway, let's see how it is going to develop for him. Let's hope that lady luck will be with him till the end as I just do not find any other more worthy character.
Have a nice day.

I know that Erik was gone last week. Every person who has ever played this game and then showed himself to be so cockey has ALWAY been voted out. It is crazy to think otherwise. But it is always good to see a blind side.
It is very possible that Russ may be gone. He did slip up I believe. He should have never shown the immunity idol. Now they others see him for what he is. A snake. The question is...Is the the type of people who can be deceived by a snake KNOWING that he is a snake? Also realize that he is now probably the strongest and fairly fast too. I would not be surprised at all if he did win immunity.

Both immunity idols are gone now, right? So there is a chance that there will be another one (or two) planted somewhere? But you are right, Russell lost his edge with showing his idol. I wonder why the heck he did that. I would much rather (if it had been me) NOT have shown it and then played it. I find it very interesting that Shambo was our of the loop on the vote. Why would Russell NOT include her in the plan if he's planning on taking her to the final? Why would she trust him to? It will be interesting to see what the guys do, vote along tribal lines or get rid of somebody they either dislike or see as a threat. There was a lot of talk about Laura and Monica last time, so maybe one of them will be the next to go, but maybe it will make more sense to the Galus to pick off the Foa Foas...

That was my thought exactly. Since both the immunity idols are gone they may insert them into the game to make it more exciting. That would be quite the twist.
Russ could not have informed Shambo of his plan because he knew she was loyal to Erik. Erik was going to take her all the way, so she thought. Russell actually would. So I think there may still be a chance there for the 2 of them.

Hi Pastor,
Well I hate to disagree but I think Russell blew his game to pieces. When he started trying to play the idol with each of the G girls, I suspected it was going to blow up in his face. Laura is not an idiot. It's too bad they missed their chance to get rid of her but I was just as pleased to see Erik go. He was even c*ckier than Russ if that is possible.
I don't get Shambo. She was so fooled by Erik and now that he is gone, I don't see her teaming up with Russell. I also don't see the girls taking her along either. With Erik gone, the Galu tribe seems to be confused. I think possibly that the male ego may prevent the men from joining forces against the girls. I also don't see Natalie leaving the security of her team to join the girls.
The smartest thing Russell did was to play his idol. He realized he put himself in jeapardy. So, here are my Final 4...
Mick
Dave
Natalie
John

Leenie,
Russell, really had his misdemeanors backfiring at himself and I just feel that his impatience to merge had got the better of him. I was just stunned at how he tried to gather alliance by revealing his hidden immunity - what was he thinking or rather NOT THINKING?
As for Shambo, I just feel that she is just disorientated and her marine paradigm is probably the reason why she isn't relating well with the gals (no offense and not condescending here) in the camp. I was hoping that she should be more tactful and remember that these gal pals are not marines. At the same time, that she is also basically a gal as well.
As for you final 4, I just do not perceive that Dave will make it there as he is quite an annoyance himself. I am sorry as I just find him really a psst by his "sh..sh..quiet".
I just find Jaison to be the likely than Dave here, if you know what I mean.

Sky,
I have to agree with you on all points made. I feel the same way about Dave. As for Jaison, I really hope he can pull himself together emotionally and use his strength and intelligence both. If he can do that, he will be on my list. Poor Shambo, I also think she is dioriented. It's too bad because she is paying a price for not being able to adjust. She's used to everyone in her team to be covering each other's back. That isn't going to happen here!! I put Natalie on my list only if she sticks with a strong team. But if she teams up with the gals, then I don't know what will happen.

Leenie,
Just by watching the show last week I would agree with you. However, watching the previews for this week causes me to think that Russell will not be voted off. They are making it too 1-sided. I think that Russell did the right thing by playing the idol then too. It does 2 things. 1) It protected him for the vote. 2) it flushed it out so now he is not as big of a target. That may very well play to his advantage.
I would love to see Mick in the final 4 but I do not think he will make it. He is too much of a physical threat. Both him and Jaison. I may change my mind if they vote out another Galu member this week. But as it stands there is still 4 against 7. Those are not good odds.

I just don't know about Russell. I think that he is going to go quickly, unless of course he is able to win individual immunity. I did amaze me to see in the dynamic of the merged tribe the power that the women have.
Also, I wonder about Shambo, where does she really fit in? She isn't really like the other females but she also isn't like the males. Perhaps, will she go quickly because she doesn't really fit in with either of the groups. Of course, this is purely speculation on my part. I can't wait to see what happens next time.

I would not count Russ out yet. At this point in the game I think the Old galu tribe is more fractured than I thought. They really have never had to play the game. So that means the old Foa Foa tribe has a slight advantage. It will be interesting to see how that plays out. Russ also has a way of getting people to vote with him. It should be a good show this week.

I enjoyed reading your insights. I was actually a bit depressed since I liked Erik. He would have been a great player...had he known how to shut his mouth up! I was sitting there on the couch listening to him at the tribal, thinking to myself "does he really have to say out loud what he thinks?" And i thought he would have been smart. but he's mouth got the better of him.
Another classic blindside!!
