To create a successful blog, it's important to write from the heart, and use it to develop relationships. The great thing about a blog is you can reach out to people that under normal circumstances would have never had the opportunity to meet you.

Hi GL4Y,
I have a blog for my crocher business. My husband prepared the introduction about how i started with crochet, what was the role of my mom for my exposure to this hobby and craft. It's really a meassage from the heart and anyone who will read it will be inspired about my story.
I also enjoyed reading others blog and feel the sincerity and goodness of the one who wrote it.

As to the OP, I quite agree. Even though I don't show much of myself on my blog - though sometimes snippets sneak through - as it's primarily about craft tutorials, I've still ended up getting to know people on a more personal level, especially my mentors and my regular commenters (who I then comment on their blogs regularly so it ends up being a conversation) *lol*
