Have you experienced having an encounter with a criminal? What do you think are the things that runs on their mind when they are doing such cruel things? Why do they do it? How do they do it? How do they planned it? What is the reason of doing it? Do they just wanted to do it? Or there is really a reason for doing it? what do you think?

Hi RJ, When I was still in college, we had an exposure trip to the different jails in our area. It was just a one day encounter but created an impact to all of us who had the chance to talk to them and hear some of their stories. How I wish I can be their social worker and handle their case… I know there’s so much goodness and kindness in them if only given the chance. Some are just victims of injustice and lies…I know I can make a difference in their lives but I just don’t the chance now. I am on reproductive health and our focus is more on women, children and youth. ...again if given the chance i will not only assess what's on their mind but what's in their hearts---

You are right! They are not born to be killers dear, some of them is also a victim of the past that is why they committed such unimaginable things, and the most pitiful of them are those people who kill but don't even know what they have done. This are the kind of people who are a victim of psychological illnesses, but the question is this, how will they have such illness? Maybe it is because of their parents?! Environment?! and etc. We admit it or not! Sometimes, parents are the contributors of this terrorizing and scary beings. Yes it is true if they are sane they are good, but if not, they are not only bad but evil.

One of my daughters was the victim of a serial killer, I've always wished I could have known what he was thinking and why he did it, before he was justly executed! It's unimaginable to me.

Yes, but so is Tammy. It was her 16th birthday that day. She would be 44 now, like her twin brother. I can't stop asking, why Tammy? I can't stop asking why I didn't drive faster -- she was waiting for me to pick her up from school when he snatched her. I taught at another school nearby, and we both got out at the same time - only 2:30 in the afternoon! Sorry. I didn't mean to push that on anyone. I'll be haunted by this forever!

O! That was terrible, i see the case now, the killer is a Psychopath, o well i know it is really hard to forget. And seems hard to give you a counseling also for that matter. It is traumatic, anyway learn to forget, just think that she is happy right now, wherever she may be. You cannot blame your self for that kind of terror, it's not you who killed your child it's him. Ok think of it this way, what if you where there, what will you do? I know you will fight, but do you think you can handle him? Psychopath Serial Killers are very professional killers and very strong ones, even police officer will have a difficult time fighting that kind of insane person. What if there is also something bad happens to you that time? What will happen to your other child right now? Do you think he will be in a good place right now if you will also die from that incident? Things happen for a reason, what ever that reason maybe, we didn't know, but try not to punish your self from what happened in the past. You cannot control the situation, neither anyone else. Try not to be too harsh to your self my friend. And if you want to remember her, do remember the good things and happy moments not that terrorizing past. It's over. What do you think is the best thing to do right now? What do you think will make her happy? You know, what do you think your daughter will feel is she saw you being like that. I am sure she will not be happy. Uhm.. o well... i never intended to counsel you this way.. Just want to say that peoples lives are only short, and we have to enjoy it. There are also people that still in your surroundings that are willing to receive your love as mother. And also do remember that all of us people will die sooner or later we just do not know when and how, maybe for her it is the way. I do not want to make you feel upset right now, i just want you to feel a little bit good even just for now.

Every criminal has motivation. They are not born to be evil. I give them more pity than hatred. If you are interested in it, I recommend you watching a TV show "Criminal mind", it gives better explanation how criminal come into being. In short, it's the family and society pushing him to be criminal.

I think these guys just think like ordinary people, they were just pushed or came across a situation where the have to make a choice and they chose to commit the crime instead of refraining from it. The thing is when they get away with it they get bolder each time until the get caught and suffer the consequences. Cheers!

nobody can tell what is in the mind of a criminal . u see they are like us . they too think the same things that we do and in the same way just the fact that we think for earning for food and they for killing and other crimes. we can do anythinkg to earn for food and living up to our principals and they too think of only doing crime . the ones who are forced to do crime have more anger and rage in them and so they are capable of thinking more efficently than we do . they do their job very efficienlty and are good at that . actually the ones onthe top are the ones who like their jobs a lot may it be killing or smuggling or anything else . ya but there are some like serial killers that we should be really carefull about . its either them or us the one who is more efficient stays and the other loses

Wow nice response, hehehehe, we do really do not know what is on their mind, if only someone here can share with us, you know... a one who really encountered a criminal face to face... or even interview a criminal.. or something like that. or a person who study the lives or minds of criminals... Cause this kind of topic is kinda really interesting, not only because it is my topic but also because of it is a mystery.

To be honest, we've all done stupid things that have gotten us in trouble, but I believe that what seperates a one-time offender (for either a super small crime when they were kids) to a life-in-prison kind of criminal is simply their moral views. It is my belief that every person knows right from wrong. They are taught it, whether or not in school, or society in general. But whats different about them from the rest of us, is their inability to look into the future. They are heat-of-the-moment kind of people who act impulsibely, which ends up getting them into more and more trouble. Unless you have a mental issue, you know your committing a crime when your doing it, its just the view the risk to be worth it, unlike the rest of us who know the consequences adn know its really not worth it. Simply, their ability to see future results is what makes a criminal different from a regular citizen.

Well that would be very difficult to answer as there are many answers to your question in here. If we non criminals have a vriety of personalities so does the criminal minds do. They have different motivation behind doing such cruel things to others. Some may say it is psychological and some say it is just plain greediness and craving for more power and control of things they cannot handle. So i cannot have one direct answer to this question. Of course there are as varied as any normal person around.

You are also right! That is much difficult to answer because they are so mysterious. Sometimes it is OK for them to die in execution than to tell the truth about what is on their mind while doing such cruel things. Two thumbs up again my friend! Hahaha! I told your always at my posts. Hahahaha! Thank you so much!

I think many crimes are not well thought out. I don't think they have given it much thought and that's why they get caught. Some do get away with it, but I really think that most slip up after a while.

It is very hard to read what psycho or criminals are thinking. They can be normal person too and sometimes looks can be deceiving too. We never know who are the bad or good person around us. Like what I watched in Criminal minds and CSI they can't predict what's on the mind of a criminals because sometimes they do their crime with no evidence and well planned.

You are right! Look can be deceiving! Even the most beautiful men or women can be a worst nightmare if we people will not be sensitive on what's around us.

I have experienced an encounter with a criminal. Not a violent one though so in terms of cruelty, there was none. It was just some con/ fraud. I think some plan ahead while others just do things in the spur of the moment. The more calculated ones are actually ones that are scarier.

You are right, the one who is silent, intelligent and deceiving is the one who is deadliest. As according to my studies they are the one who are very intelligent, and they think therefore they are dangerous.

Most criminals are desperate have no formal education, an are too lazy to get a real job, they are products of the enviroment they grow up in.

He said criminal not serial killer, and not blue collar scam artist, also the term criminal usually sums up petty crimes like robbery, which is my own experience with criminals so thats why I answered it like that.

I disagree. This is a generalization and a misrepresentation. It is an illusion. Ted Bundy was a law student. So was Bernard Madoff. So was Ferdinand Marcos. They were the great minds and they lived a lives of crime. Yes there are people of your description within the ranks of the criminals but they do not represent all of them. They merely are just the ones who get caught.

Hey how are you two? I think the topic is getting a little hotter with you both. Anyway when we speak of criminals, we mean all of the people who do bad things, cruel things and unimaginable things. Like Rape, Robbery, Swindling, Serial Killing and etc. But.. You are also right... They are the product of the environment. People are not bad when they were born, it was the environment where they lived in makes them to be like that, maybe because of their parents? Media? We didn't know, but of course this so called environment reason is most likely not acceptable, cause what if they are already grown up? They know how to think... They can choose between good and evil, they can choose whether to satisfy themselves form their hunger of lust, greed, pride, power, money and even blood. Anyway both of you have a point i cannot really argue with that. Both of you have nice responses and both of you have a different kind of thinking and so do i. All i can say is... Thank you so much for the time that you gave to my discussions, i hope to see you both to my future discussions.

Im no expert or nothing but I think there are many reasons people become criminals. Their surroundings, their up bringing, hunger, greed, insanity, ect. I think there is two type of criminal, a criminal that commits a crime because of need, and a criminal that commits a crime because of greed. When it comes to serial killers and mass murderers, I think these people are just insane.

You are right tow types of criminal Criminal for needs and wants! A criminal of needs only kill because of it is their need. They need to do it cause of having no choice, they kill for someone they love. But still not acceptable by the society. A criminal of wants kills, because of their hunger for blood, their hunger to kill! Their passion to kill! Their lust and greed to kill. They just want it that's all, nothing less, cause they feel that if they kill someone they are being satisfied. Then after wards there they go again. No stopping, killing spree. Until they die, or get executed.
