There is a saying that destiny is already created before we are born and ascertained by divination. But some contradict this, for they believe that destiny depends on the people who choose their own paths throughout their life. Destiny can vary depending how a person perceived his/her future. Some believe on astrology to predict their destiny. There are various things about this word, but as much as possible we are aiming that our lives will be destined for good.
For me, I believe in destiny. How about you, do you believe in destiny?

I don't believe in preordained destiny. I don't believe that our destiny is already set for us when we are born. I think we are born a blank slate, and that everything we believe is either taught to us, or learned by us through our life experiences. If you are religious, did you choose your religion or was it thrust upon you by your parents or the people who raised you? What about your customs, traditions and rituals? Did you choose them, or did you learn them. Your beliefs, your thinking, your moral and ethical sense, is it natural or is it learned? I believe it is all learned. I believe that we learn through a system of reward and punishment. Think about it! Everything we do, our beliefs, our actions and behaviors are either rewarded or punished by our parents, families, school teachers, friends and others. When we are rewarded, we tend to learn or act in a manner that will get more rewards. When we are punished, we tend to learn or act in a manner that will avoid further punishment. In that sense then, we are guided in our actions and behaviors by learning what will be rewarded and by what will bring punishment. That being said, we are not born to fulfill a preordained destiny. Rather, our paths are determined by the environment and culture we are born into.

Hello, evadhar! Thank you for your response. I understand that people have different perceptions about the word 'destiny'. We may have different views about this matter, but still, I'm glad how you clearly stated your side about it. :)

I think that destiny is in our own hands in most cases on condition that we are positive in handling it, but if we let it be the way it is, we won't make any change to our destiny. Take me for example. I used to work in a mountainous area and I wanted to move to another place close to big cities. My determination to move drove me to start looking for another job and I finally made it. Now here I am working in a small town in a developed area of my country. So it all depends on each individual--whether you are happy to change it or remain the same.
