Its monsoon season in Tamilnadu(Southern most state in India). Rains triggered landslides in Ooty and nearly 42 people died. Almost 300 tin roofed houses got demolished in this disaster. That place is about 80 KM from my place. It is a beautiful tourist spot and such landslides happen every year. Ooty is called as Queen of hills in our area. What do you think about about it? Is there any preventive measure to control it....? If you know give me some ideas, I would like to create some awareness to my people. I'm very sad about it and I'm praying for their souls.

Hi earndeep, I really appreciate your concern for the people...! Actually me too studied near to that beautiful place..! We use to go to Ooty atleast every month..! Yes this problem occurs every year there, But I couldn't suggest anything, Because the government is not even able to provide good road facility there..! The reason is not that they not having funds, If they have to provide good roads...! The have to shut the traffic for atleast 3 months so they afraid of that...! But they have to take some action...! And the landscape and the soil type is the reason for the landslide, we can not do anything for these natural things, we can take precautions that solve...! You know that this happens every year, Ya me too know this, then the people there should surely know about this very well...! Then they should be aware of this be cautious...!
