I have a 2 month old son. He is the first of his generation on my side of the family and the only local baby on my wife's side of the family. Needless to say that with them around and our awesomely supportive friends, our little man has everything he could need and more. Now we have started getting the questions of what to get him for X-mas. My wife and I have talked it over and we think some thing that may benefit him in the long run, like a bond, would be better for him at this point. He doesn't need any more toys. Maybe some clothes. Any thoughts????

Yeah i would suggest the idea of a savings account/bond. the family and friends can all chip in some money and add it to the account and let it sit... it can pay for college or a car or anything that may come up in the future for you boy.
a few little gifts like clothes for the up coming months and dipers and wipes those kind of things... kinda like another baby shower. lol they are the things that will be usefull. he isnt going to remember xmas so just take a few pics with a few little gifts so he will atleast have photos..

Hi! tripmarty. congrat's on your newborn son, how about when people ask what to get him for x-mas tell them clothe's would be nice in different size's as they grow so quickly, also suggest someone buy him a bond he could use for the future. i hope this help's you out.
