That is the argument that Republicans like to make, but it has no foundation in reality. The fact is that Britain has the most high profile Royal family in the world. They attract millions of tourists each year who spend billions of pounds. Compared to the cost of keeping the Royal family (now that they pay taxes and the civil list is almost non-existant), any businesman would look at the ROI (return on investment) and wish their company was doing half as well.
If the Royal family goes, Britain would lose it living history and the economy would suffer a huge financial loss.

Congratulations to you, I am just 2 short of 600. Gonna try and do 600 becasue I am going out of station for the next fortnight and may not be in a position to post anything for the next few days.
As far as the Queen is concerned, well never try and out guess royalty is my motto of the moment!
All the best to you on myLot!

The good old telegram is a thing of the past. You may get a telemessage, but I'm not sure of that. One guaranteed way is for a relative to ask for a message to be sent. One drawback, it costs. I know the last is true because my family and I did it for my parents 60th Wedding aniversay.
