What are the things you do when you are stuck in traffic?

I went home late today. Thus I was able to go home during the rush hour. O man the traffic is really bad vehicles are not moving. Cars are bumper to bumper. Thus I was inspired to write this topic. What I usually do during traffic is to pray the rosary and sleep (I don't drive...I don't like driving during traffic) to pass the time. What do you when you are stuck in traffic since that is and idle time?

Hi Earth2J, i am used to be stuck in traffic... what i used to do is keep myself relax, pray and take a nap. i don't want to stress myself much because i can't do anything about it. so just enjoy the moment.

Yeah I also take a nap that is the reason I don't like driving during traffic. I'd rather nap to catch up on some lost sleep. Thanks for posting.

finally, there's another person in mylot who take a nap instead of worrying the traffic but lets be half-awake and be conscious about what's happening around us! thanks!

When I am stuck in traffic I make a list of things that need to be done. I also crank up the music and sing. I dance in the car. I do not drive either so it gives my husband and I a chance to talk. We turn off the ignition so we do not waste any gas (with the bad economy and high gas prices we save as much as we can). In a way, I love being stuck in traffic because it gives my husband and I a chance to really talk.

It's nice to know that you are able to turn something negative into positive. It's a good idea that you turn this idle time into quality time with your husband. Thanks for posting.

I also don't drive, my husband is the one who's driving. Sometimes, we will chit chat in the car, sometimes we listen to music. Sometimes, we'll read when we are stuck in the traffic. Of course, we'll keep an eye on the traffic movement when we are reading.

Yeah driving during traffic isn't a good thing. I read during traffic too especially if it is bright inside the bus since I wouldn't be able to sleep if that is the case. Thanks for posting.

If i am with a friend when i am stuck in traffic i tend to look around as well as have a long chat.If i am on my own then i tend to listen to music and hope that the traffic soon moves along. If the children are with me we play i spy and other games to keep them so they are not bored.

Yeah listening to music takes out the boredom. Kids are easily bored and prone to throwing tantrums during these times. It's good you found a way to entertain them. Thanks for posting.

Listen to the radio is the best, gives me a chance to catch up on some favorite program. Also gives me a chance to people watch, or examine what the cars around me really look like, and if I would like to own one. And survey the scenery, take a good look at the residential or commercial block I'm going through.

Yeah I like listening to the radio as well. I often sing along if I like the song being played. Thanks for posting.

Hi earth, it seems that the heavy traffic you had encountered that day gave you such a good inspiration to start this discussion This brings you some benefit eh....lol.... It's always more relaxing and comfy to be a passenger than a driver while riding on road with congested traffics. I drive to my office alone in the afternoon during weekdays. There are two secondary schools and a couple of traffic lights on the way to my destination. Sometimes I do come across traffic jam if I leave for work 5 to 10 minutes later. The road in front of the two school will be congested with vehicles and students riding on their bikes. What's even worse I'm not waiting in the long queue only, I do have to wait for the traffic light which is 200 m away from the school gate to turn green for twice or thrice I then could carry on my journey There are a magazine and a language hand book in my car. I usually would read either of them and listen to the music at the same time. If I couldn't concentrate on my reading I then watch the students having fun under the shade of a big tree by the roadside. These girl and boy students never feel tired totally after school. They chase one another and making fun. The ice cream mobile hawker is busy entertaining his customers happily. Take care and happy posting
