I lost a baby at 7 months last year due to an abruption.
I'm pregnant again and as much as my Gynie reassures me that the chances of this happening again are slim - I'm constantly worried about it.
I really don't want to go through that again!
Anybody here managed a successful pregnancy after an abruption?

Good luck with your current pregnancy. I am so sorry to hear about your loss last time. I suggest that you have regular checks to make sure all is well. You could have scans to show the position of your placenta. Many ladies that have suffered a placenta abruption have gone on to have a successful pregnancy next time. I had a retained placenta the first time and severe bleeding the third time. My second time was fine.

Thanks maxima - I suppose it really is one of those 'if it's meant to be' things isn't it?

I know how you feel. We lost a baby for undetermined reasons a little over a year ago, I was 20 weeks along. I am now newly pregnant and they are treating me as high risk because they couldn't figure out what happened. I am a nervous wreck. Now I have three health kids so I know I can make it through but I cannot sleep and am anxious all the time. I did not have an abrupt ion but my sister in law did and (her son was born at 26 weeks and though alive has cp and mental issues) she just had a lovely 9 lb. 11 oz. baby boy three weeks ago.

I've never suffered from an abruption, but I have a feeling I can sympathize with what you are going through to some extent. I lost a pregnancy between the birth of my daughter and the birth of my son. When I found out that I was pregnant with my son, there wasn't a day that went by that I wasn't apprehensive about what the outcome of my pregnancy would be. The day that my son was born healthy was honestly the happiest day of my life.
I hope that you have the best of luck with your pregnancy and that you can experience a joyous day much like the one that I had when my son was born.

Hi Jodie!
I have never had an abruption, but I am so sorry to hear about your past pregnancy. I am sure that you will be fine this time around! Just try not to stress to much! Take care!
