It's in the 60's today...very unusual for Minnesota on Nov. 11.....so I took the opportunity to put up my outside decorations.....it was fun and very nice to do without freezing my hands! LOL....have you gotten your outside decorations up for Christmas yet?

I'm not sure if she has gotten her outside decorations up, but my daughter has her inside decorations done. She has 3 trees up and decorated. However, there is another reason to her early decorating other than just getting anxious about Christmas time. She got an early start so that her husband will be able to enjoy the decorations, he will be deployed early December, so he won't be home for Christmas this year.

I dont really do outdoor decorations just dont really get into it that much. In fact this year we wont even be setting up a tree due to savanna shes at that age where the tree will be one big headache.

No, not yet but I'm already in the Christmas mood already though. When I go home during Thanksgiving, I'll probably help my mother set up our Christmas tree and the plastic wreaths.

Glad you had such good weather to get outside and get your decorations up for the holidays. You are one step ahead of many people. Nobody in our area have done any outside decorating yet. They will wait until it's freezing cold out there and the windy is brutal.
We haven't decorated our house outside or inside since we have lived here. We don't celebrate Christmas with any kind of decorations or a tree. It was an adjustment I had to make the first year we were married. We do go to our daughter's who do have trees and decorate and celebrate. We are a mix and match family with religions..lol It all works very well.

I do the same thing... try to get the outside decorating done before it gets super cold (I'm in Canada). Missed a few perfect days for it already but hopefully next weekend it'll get done. It's just so unpleasant trying to deal with lights or, in my case, lighted trees when your hands are so cold that you can hardly feel what you're doing LOL I have several neighbors that get their stuff up early, as well, so I don't feel like my house sticks out in the neighborhood. One neighbor a few doors down, in fact, has those big blowup decorations on the front lawn so, every morning, there is all this flat material laying all over their grass LOL Then, at night, POOF! Up pops the Santa and the snow globe and all the others... they really sort of go a bit overboard actually

I love Christmas and the decorations and all and I really do try to decorate tastefully ... but I think the issue with my neighbors is that they buy all the "fad" decorations every year. Whatever is new, they get it... but they don't stop using any of their older items. So they end up with quite a mish mash of things going on. It's actually so busy looking that I don't think you can really appreciate any one thing. But, to each their own, I guess... I'm just glad I don't pay their electricity bill!

I won't be putting any outside because I live on the top floor of my aparment complex. I could get some kind of statue to sit in front of my door. It would have to be something fairly heavy so it wouldn't blow away. But then again, some of the troublemakers might end up stealing it. But I do have a lot of fun decorating the inside of the apartment. Maybe you can take some pictures of the outside decorations and post them here?

I expect that if I had your weather then I would have taken the opportunity to put them up also. I don't put up any decorations until the second week in December. Just a few lights outside as the lady next door to me is so over the top with sleighs and Santa's and rein deers flying around allover the place. So her display is enough for the houses around her house. It really is very spectacular and all th kids in the neighbourhood just love it. Blessings and enjoy them!

Jillill my dear it is November. Do you all have free electricity out there and don't you all get fined for contaminating the environment?
A few people attempted this foreign trend over here but it didn't last long when they got their electric bills.

no, we live in a condo unit and the rules are that you cannot put up christmas decorations outside (ie lights) until after december first. to be honest, i have been too busy to even think about decorations yet, but have most of my shopping done.
