Hi All!!!
Sorry I have not been around for a while.
Been having lots of family problems. My Mom is very sick in the hospital.
Things have been a little rough.
Anyway what I wanted to ask. How can you get along best with a 2 and a half year old little girl?
Her Daddy needs to travel a lot for his work.
She has been alone with her mother all the time and does not really spend much time with other people.
I want to be her Nanny. I met her on Tuesday and today we played for four hours.
I am so tired. hahaha!
Anyway, how can I keep her occupied? She is very smart. But, does not want to play with one thing for more than 5 min.
When she get grumpy and try's to get the over hand of me, how should I react?
Have you got some advice for me please?
My children are 22 and almost 24 years old. It has been a long time ago. hahaha! I really want to keep this job!

hi,Margajoe.I took care of one of my nieces and I found it was really hard to do this job.she did all things she could to attract your attention all the time.but I found she was easy to appealed by TV and could watch cartoons for a couple of hours.during such time I felt relaxed.perhaps you can try this way.anyway, kids are so cute that one can get some pleasure by spending time with them.
have a nice day!

Thank-you for your advice.
Problem is,her mother does not want the child to watch tv.
She is right. To much tv is not good for little children.
I like watching tv, but okay, I have to do what the mother says. hahaha!
Tomorrow we are going pony riding. Wow! This mother is really into being the best mother possible. But then again she has the money to do it.
When my children were small, I could not afford expensive days out. Let alone a Nanny. hahaha!
So, I hope I can keep up with these people. If I can I will have a really nice job.
I hope I can keep it. Have a nice evening!

hi,Margajoe!thank you for your comment.
when I was a little girl,my parents diddn't much money to buy me toys, new clothes and to take me out for fun,and I rarely got porket money.but I had never been unhappy because of such things.because what I needed most was their attention to me,the time we spend together,I mean,I needed they to accompany with me,not other things.and I believe most children are just the same with me,including your children.because for kids there is nothing more important and precious than mother's love!
have a nice day!

don't let her see she's getting to you, otherwise she'll play on it,,what i do to keep kids occupied is to act like a kid myself,i make stupid noises and mess around on the floor with them,i also used to let mine help me do adult things, like cleaning, tidying up or baking cakes,i think most kids like to help with the adult stuff,it makes them feel special

Thank-you for your advice.
I have been acting like a kid, but I was afraid maybe I was overdoing it a little.
But, you say the same, so I feel better know.
As for her not getting at me? Do I just ignore her? It is not my daughter, I don't want to look real cruel.
She likes to do adult things too, but only for a few minutes, hahaaha!
But, I will keep that in mind, try to do more with her.

ha ha ha ha ha... well, playing education games is one way to keep that little girl busy.
Have activities that will help her to learn new things. At 2 and a half, they are constantly curious. And they respond to carrot and stick methods as well. No need to physically reward. Just sing lots of praises when they do things right.
And reprimand and teach the right way if she commits mistakes or wrongs.
I too am having fun playing with the ward that my mother is taking care of. And she is about the same age as your little girl you are taking care of.
Some times, I would get her naming so many things, counting so many stuff, singing so many songs, she gets tired out and nap!
