Yes so are so right and I have been saying that I should really make a commitment o use more containers and less bags.Lately I have been using containers for my salt but that is as far as I have been able to go in that endeavour but eventually I will get there. Thanks for reminding me Sarah

I like to store food in the storage containers, too. The cereal stays fresher and it is easier to use. Happy Mylotting

I used to use the storage containers but found when topping them up ,I would get older cereal stuck down the bottom.so I went back to using straight from the packet so they would run out properly then everything is in date.It is different if you use a lot of stuff that won't go out of date, bigger families ect.

I have used ceramic containers for my sugar, flour and powdered sugar for a few years now. I think it is easier to use containers than it is to try and get a little bit of the sugar or flour out of those paper bags. I also recently bought 3 new plastic containers to put my cereal in because my kids are now at the ages to where they can start getting things themselves and they were starting to leave the cereal bags open and then the cereal would get stale so I thought by getting these containers it would save on wasted cereal. I really like using containers...I am going to be getting more to store my pastas and such in as well.

I use old empty coffee containers, especially Maxwell House snap top, for all my pasta, rice, sugar, etc. As I live in the warm humid South it is very important to keep my dry food in air tight containers.

I usually don't use food storage containers too much. Right now all I use containers for is flour, sometimes sugar, and popcorn (as I buy it in 12 lb bags). Otherwise I keep left overs in them.

I use them too. I use alot of rice, beans and cornbread in the winter. It is much fresher when put in containers. I put spaghetti in them too. They have very nice ones now days that have a vacuum seal. I used to have Tupperware ones but I like the vacuum seal ones better. They keep things fresh for months.

Yes, I do use some food container to keep my food fresh. I also use glad storage bags for my cookies it help keep them fresher than leaving them in the cookie package because I can close it.

I use containers all the time. I love Tupperware, which is what all of my containers are quickly becoming. It keeps the bugs away for one, and it keeps the food a lot fresher as well.
I've even now got some containers for use in my fridge that keep produce fresher, longer which actually saved me a lot of money during the summer when we were buying lots of fresh produce.
Additionally, it is easier to keep things organized when they are in storage containers as opposed to being in the boxes that they come in.

Yes. We use them too for alot of things. I use them for our food and for my pets food also. I also use them for other things around the house also so we can store things neatly.

I love using glad disposables! The different sizes make it so I can put just about anything in them, I can refrigerate, freeze and heat things up in the microwave in these containers.
With cereal I use zip lock bags, measure the cereal out to one or two cups and put the baggies back in the cereal box, keeps it from going stale & keeps the kids from pouring massive amounts of cereal into a bowl.
I use the zip lock bags for pasta, too....that way I only have to use one bag for dinner, two if we're having extra people over for dinner. I could never, (for a reason that I'm not sure of) leave pasta in the box it comes in, just always seemed like a bad idea.

Yes, and smart spin ones are my favorites. I cut out part of the label from what I'm "repackaging" and tape it to the container to identify the contents.
I pour milk out of the cartons into old-fashioned glass milk bottles, too. I think the milk stays fresh longer and tastes better in glass.

Hi jugsjugs
I too store my cereals, rice, sugar and all other provisions in the respective storage contaiers only to keep them fresh and dry always. if we keep them in bags it will loose its freshness and becomes soggy during rainy season

I must agree with you. tapper ware storage does protect food. I used it too, and has saved my food several times, keeps it fresh and makes things look organized too.
