My wife already made the first step several years back particularly in the bath room. Instead of taking a bath with faucets/shower running for a long 40 to 60 minutes a day, she cuts it down to 20 minutes. I wanted to have each of the household its share of conserving water. And I decided to make a list and post it in our ref's door and make it as part of the general house rule #___.
Can you fill in my list on how to conserve water in the kitchen?

Conserving water should be on a holistic basis not just in the kitchen. What is done in our kitchen is that all items are scrubbed in one lot say twice in the day and the scrubbed vessels are washed one at a time keeping the faucet (quarter) open. While the washed item is being placed in the drainer with one hand the next vessel is kept under the tap with the other hand, while the faucet remains open. This process continues till all the items are washed. The waste water is collected in a chamber from where it is chanellised to the trees. The bathroom, kitchen and basic water is also connected to this chamber. The faucet is kept open only after the teeth are brushed and this applies also when shaving is done. Bathing from the buckets also conserves water.
