How Do You Handle Telemarkers

I know these people are just trying to do their job but they are so annoying. I have registered with the "Do not Call" Service and they still get through. Sometimes when they call I just put down the phone and walk away. I know that is rude but I wish they would stop calling me. Sometimes I would tell them to stop calling me or I will just answer their questions, but they drive me nuts. I know some people play horrible jokes on telemarketers. Sometimes I feel sorry for them.

Hello there, I am an outbound telemarketer from AT&T, You know we have the capability to put/tag you to a Do Not Call costumer, Just talk sincerely to the agent who's is calling you, getting along with them then request for Do not Call and we'll be oblige to do so. By the way as a call center agent, i only make calls in the office from 8am t0 5pm Mondays to Fridays

Thanks for the information. I created a duplicate post as I neglected to check beforehand. I will make sure to inform them of this request the next time they call. I don't know how you handle the abuse on a daily basis. They must train you guys really well so that you can deal with difficult or irate people.

Our motto is Costumer is always right, but you have to be talking to us before we can do something, there are those who are really not that great to talk with but the problem arises when you say i am busy, not interested, call back later, hung up, WE PUT YOU ON NO PITCH MADE, therefore another guy will be prompted to call you again.

Has anyone ever played these tricks on you? I can't believe that someone just sent this to me. Too funny. www.tasteoftheweb.com/telemarketers

I let my answering machine handle all calls. I don't intend to sit and argue with these people on the phone. We just recently refinanced our home to get a lower rate of interest. There is a company that comes up on my caller I.D. that is a mortgage company and they call us faithfully multi times per day. Other financial services call constantly as well. Some company has harassed us for months about a class directory for my high school.
I've looked up several of these numbers online and find out that people have been called several times a day by these people and some have had that high school or college directory sent to them at a cost of $99 even after they said no. That is why I do not answer these calls. My husband and I counted the telemarketer calls the other day and it totaled 14 calls. That is ridiculous. This does not count the fund raising calls.
Right now the economy in our city and in our family is horrid. I only donate to the local mission and Salvation Army by my choice. Even though many others are worthwhile causes, I do not have the money to help everyone. I really dislike saying no to a good cause, so I just don't answer. Solves my problem because I don't have to justify to them why I can't donate and I don't have to listen to them telling me that I can easily afford $15 per month.

Yes 14 calls are way too much. My next door neighbor tells me that she lets them know that she is aware that they are at the door and just yells "I'm not interested" and goes about her business. As far as I'm concerned they are uninvited and you don't have to invite them in your home whether they are at the door or on the phone.

I know where you are coming from.
I hope in the near future there will be a better way to deal with these types of solicitors.

14 telemarketing calls in one day is ridiculous. And what is even worse is when you live in a house and they come knocking on your door. They know you are home, you probably know that they can see you but to avoid the hassle you just have to ignore them.

If you hang up, we will call again, the next day or next week.
