hello friends,
Everyday we will be shopping for something or the other for which we need to pay money. But everywhere we can't carry heavy amount due to so many reasons. So we use credit card which will take care of our heavy and light purchases. But I do not have one for myself but my son and DH are having more than one. Do you have any card for you. If so how many.

i have 2 credit cards right now ...the other one i use it on my business and the other one for personal consumption. if u used it and pay it immediately it is very ideal to used but in a certain point u didnt paid it ,,,it is a burden at the end, interest will bogged u down.

Hi chaitra
I do not think that credit card is necessary to all. it is for those people who need to carry heavy amount and since it is risky, they will have a card. and use it for various purchases

I had citi bank visa card before. It was convenient no doubt but the purchases were not limited to the basic requirement but it was extravagant. The interest levied was 2.5% pm then. That means I am paying 30% interest. One day I realised the debt balance was too much though I was paying good amount every month. Then I took loan and settled the outstanding balance and surrendered my card. Now my bank has given me a debit card but till now I never used it. One shock is enough for me. May be if you have control over your mind, it is convenient.

In my house, both my husband and son are having credit cards, but my husband uses it only in emergency like suddenly we have received a call informing about the serious health condition of our close relative, then if it is a month naturally we do not have enough money to buy a plane ticket, so he uses his card. My son uses it to pay for the petrol, dresses, shoes and returns in time, thus avoiding the interests.

Hi dianagnes
Your policy is very nice and practical. Even I do not have one credit card. But while opening a paypal account for the cash out in mylot, I was put in a much difficult position. it is a must for opening an account and mylot will only credit the earnings to the paypal. Then I have adjusted according to the afiliations in that colomn. What did you do? how did you open an paypal a/c without a credit card? I think definitely you might have your payout of $10

Is it possible to open one a/c without any credit card? do we need to give our bank a/c no? is it safe? If so I will do the needful and get the paypal account transfered into my bank account

I don't have a credit card.I know my spending habits.I can foresee myself drowning with credit card debt.I foresee that when I have a credit card,I would have probably be spending a lot on shoes, beauty products, perfume, and lingerie.I prefer buying in cash,so I know how much I can spend.

Hi coco
Yes. Actually credit is not necessary. We keep it because if we need some heavy money, instead of carrying it and landing in risk, we can easily make transaction.

Hi vathsala... I too do not have a credit card myself even my husband. We use cash when we go shopping since we do not shop a very big amount that would not fit our wallet... We only have some bank accounts by passbook and card that we could withdraw through ATM.

Hi jndlponti
You are like me. Even I too do not have a credit card myself, but my son and DH have. We are also not a big shoppers. Just go to any provisional shop and buy the necessary things. We use our debit card and withdraw money through the ATM. Thanks for responding

Why don't you have a card, but they have several? I have a pre-paid credit card. I don't believe in paying for items with someone else's money, so I will make sure I have the money in the bank before I actually use the card.
I prefer the pre-paid card because I need a credit card to buy things on line, and book hotel reservations, otherwise I'd just pay cash. I also like the points that I get from credit cards too

Hi, credit cards are convenience for our life. I use Visa for overseas travel to save exchange charges. At home, I use local bank credit card for supermarket shopping, discount movie tickets, etc. There are smart users of credit cards to great financial benefits, but abuse of credit cards is causing great social problems, as well. We really need to be self controlable to make good use of credit cards.

Hi,
Now a days i think almost all the people are having credit cards, who use it for various purposes. Some popular banks are enticing the customers, to buy their credit card by offering some points for the purchase and some gifts according to the points which makes the customer to use more and more their credit cards

Hi neelima
If one member in the family can have his credit card, then the other persons may have debit cards and in this way we too adjust our selves. I too am having one debit card for State Bank of India and Canara bank which is nearby our house. My husband and son are having credit cards and debit cards of various banks

Hi govijo
Credit cards are very useful and at the same time if not paid within the stipulated time, they will charge large sums as interest which sucks and drains our wallets.

Hi Vasthala,I too dont have a credit card on my own. Even my hubby too. I shop with my debit card. I dont think it is necessary. IF we have credit card, definotely we purchase the unwanted most of the times and shocked when see the bill.
