Have you ever donated your blood?

Even though I think that donating blood to a blood bank is a noble thing to do, I have till date not done that. Maybe I've not come across the right opportunity to do so. I feel guilty for not doing that. I want to donate blood sometime to those who are really in need of it. What do you feel about donating blood?

Yes I have donated blood before, and would do so again willingly and without question. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to as I had a Pulmonary Embulism a few years ago and since then I have been unable to give blood. I do feel guilty about this, especially when I know that the supplies of blood are low. However,I have encouraged my son and his fiancee to give blood,so maybe in a way I am still helping. I would encourage anyone to do this relatively simple thing to help others.

Indeed it is a noble thing to do. As I have told you, I;ve still not done it yet. I wish to do so soon. It is very good that you have encouraged others to do that, since you are now unable to donate blood. I need to do that as well, asap. Thank you for your say.

Yes, but right now, given Swine Flu and all, and my current situation with my health, I haven't been donating blood because I do not think that it would be a good thing to do at the current point and time. Maybe some other time.

I actually wanted to donate blood when my dad needed it for his operation but the nurse didn't allow me to for the reason that i am too thin for my height.

Well, there was a time where they asked if I wanted to donate my blood or not and the majority of my class did so I went with the flow. I donated it and after that I felt really weak and I just slept for the whole daY ( probably to generate new blood cells)
