every player has got its own charisma, that attaracts fans towards him. as far as safin is concerned, he is a a tall, handsome player, which sure gives him a huge female following.
apart from his ooks his serve was great, his temperament was also talk about a lot. has he been able to contorl his temper, he might have done much better than what he did.
his carrier was a nice one, with hgh and lows, he won GS, and remained no 2 for quite some time during this peak. i still think had he got a better head, he would had been one of the all time best players of the world. anyways, farewell to him ;)

I will miss both his smile as well as his mood swings. I think as a player he has been a massive under achiever due to his mood swings. When he is at his best, I really like to see him play, but somehow when the big stage comes up he unerringly seems to lose the plot. Getting 7 matches through without going on the edge was difficult for him throughout his career.
Anyhow now that he has retired, all the best for the rest of his life.
Cheers!
Ram

I'll miss the humourous interviews the most, I think.
Safin was a real character - he actually had a personality, unlike a lot of the tennis stars. I always want Federer to go out before the final, so I don't have to watch the turgid interview he gives afterwards.
Much better to hear some crazed dude speak about hippos and other weird metaphors!
