how mylot works

Hello Lotters! I am new here, joined yesterday...wants to know how does mylot exactly work? though i found some stuff in FAQ section but still somethings are not very clear.. At some site, dont exactly remember which one, it said that from mylot u can earn some extra bucks by putting discussions, responding to them, and even making friends etc ...is that correct? is it true for every discussion v make...or theres some specific criteria for that?how do v know that which discussion would give u more or less? ok this questionnaire is getting longer so i should stop here for now guess :) thanks in advance...
