My sister always try to comfort me and cheer me up with those words. Her life is basically like that. She doesn't worry much about shat's going to happend next. She is living for the moment while I tend to consider everything before doing anything. I think the slogan is motivating, but it's not always applicable, especially when you got older..
Are you more of a happy person or a person with so many worries in life?

My husband and I are both worry worts, but I think in some ways I am more of a worrier then he. I like to have things planned, I guess I got it from growing up with a grandfather who was and still is always scheduling and never really spontaneous. I'm also a procrastinator and I think that does a lot to make me worry even more and more...
"Don't Worry be Happy" "Don't get mad, get glad!" those are both great slogans but in some ways you can't help but worry! Atleast that's my opinion!

With regards to your problem, i believe it's best to only think about the present that makes the future. so, it's better if you focus on what you do now rather than think about the future, it's not good but it's nice to plan something as well for the future. the future is what you make it today. well, try to STOP worriying and do your best to be contented of what you have, other wise, this being unsatisfied that you have now could eventually give you a trouble some future.

nooveggies I do hope you really do like your veggies. he he I think I am a sort of inbetween person as sometimes I take that attitude but a lot of times the scorpio in me, I was born in Nov.,comes out and I am moody and worried about the future and get irritated at the smile, be happy people. but now that I have to be where I am i have decided to try and live today, and let the future go hang. Be happy now as you can only live now anyway. Yes I do have worries, my adult son and my only family is out of work now for 11 months so yes that worries me a lot.

I try not to worry too much about what goes on. I try to maintain a happy mindset but I think it's only normal to worry about things every now and then so as long as you don't let it get the best of you.
I am generally a happy person, but I do have moments where I worry, of course. I don't let it consume me so I think I'm a happy person overall.

I think that it's how we cope with the worriness that matters too. if we don't cope with it well, we might not be as happy as before :)

I guess I lived that way more when I was younger but now I have responsibilities and can't just live for the moment. It's nice when your young but eventually we all have to grow up and look further than at that moment.

I think its a good general outlook to have, and of course things do, on the whole, go better if you face the day with a positive attitude.
But I do think sometimes we need to be careful how we use it, as to someone going through real problems it can come across as trite and patronizing. Sometimes you need to sit with someone and rant and cry too! The trick is to know which.
Then, after you have shown that person you are there for them even if they need to share something negative, they will find it easier to be happy and you will have contributed to the 'don't worry be happy' of the world!

Hey Pal...Ur sister is correct..It is a very popular life slogan...But the thing is..,it depends on the nature of a person...If a person is with lot of temper and tension..he cant even think about it...But for a "always kool" guy it may be possible....But we have to accept that we cannot stay cool always...If we could,,the world would've changed by now..

Everyone want to live a "Don't worry be happy" kind of life, but in most situations, we have to say that "it is easier said than done".
At first, I have to say that this sentence is really useful to comfort us and cheer us up. But when living in the real life, it is difficult to keep happy all the time. For me, I am busy with my work per day and work hard under the big pressure, even if I remind me of being relaxed. You see, we have to face various troubles in our daily life and it seems that it is impossible completely to be happy.
For the financial crisis, we have to learn to deal with more difficulities. If one can still keep happy all the time, I have to say that he/she is a great man.

Hi friend, your sister was correct. We doesn't know what will happen in the next moment. we should live for the current moment, there is no time to spend for future and past moments. They will bring tears, live for this moment it cheers. My policy is "Whatever happens life has to be go on".

That's a great policy, cognoscente! I agree that we shouldn't keep looking to the future or past too much that we start to ignore the present.

I'll try not to worry anything in my life. but maybe naturally, we'll face so many problems that make us worry about them. every day I'll worry about something in my daily life though it doesn't bother me so much. but generally, i feel happy with my life.

hello nooveggies, i think the reason for that is we can't afford to spent time worrying, most specially about the past since you can't turn back already and thus, it allows to consume our time to do things better and make up to our mistakes. i think we should stop worrying and move forward for a better day, there's always to tomorrow if you make a mistake today. i think that's what you're sister is trying to tell you

I tend to live in that way because its the only way I could only lessen all my worries. i still smile despite of what happening in my life because I know that although god gave me this he is still the one who will help me to solve all this problem. I just leave him everything and be happy.

hi,nooveggies!
I find the idea of your sister makes sense.the world is so big and full of changes and uncertainty, while we are so small and limited in capability.even if we can know something in advance, most of time what we can do about it is just to worry about it in vain...
besides,in china there is a saying that "we will cross the bridge when we get to it."It illustrate that we can deal with the trouble when we ge invloved it.in the oher hand,we can predict all the problems before things have happened.so why not take it easy and cheer up,enjoying the moment?and when we come across problems,we handle them and then move on.
have a nice day!
