How many hours do you sleep for at night?

Do you feel like you're getting enough sleep? I don't because there are so many things I want to do in a day before going to sleep. I need more sleep actually since I often get less than 6 hours of sleep. I know that we actually need to spend 8 hours a day for sleeping and I've been having trouble to maintain my schedule to make it happen. Do you sleep enough hours at night?

I usually get around 6 to 8 hours of sleep, depending on how well I sleep. Sometimes I can't sleep because of my mild scoliosis, my tailbone just throbs with pain so I have to get up and walk for a while. Then by the time it stops hurting I'm awake. Usually though, I can get at least 6 hours a night.

No I don't get enough sleep or maybe I should say quality sleep! I'm just like you, there are so many things that need to be done and I am working harder than I ever had and just keeping up some days! It's a misconception that we all need 8 hours of sleep, every varies abit. Some may be great with 6 while others may need 9. The 8 hours is basically an average of what we think we need. Amazing to think that we spend an average of 1/3 of our lives sleeping... One of my goals for 2010 is to work and plan smarter so that I am not working harder. Based on the saying that you can Work Smart or you can Work Hard...Maybe you need to review your schedule and see what's really key for you, I know that's part of my plan to help overcome the lack of good sleep..

Dear friend, I would usually sleep less than 7 hours, late night sleep and early morning wake up. But at times if I feel tried I would just increase my sleeping our. It depends entirely upon my tiredness and feeling of being sleepy.

I do think that Im getting enough sleep in the night. Well, technically I dont get to sleep in the night, I sleep during the day and that would be from 1AM to around 11AM. It depends really. The number of hours isnt the main issue for me really, its more of the time that I get to sleep. I will not really be rested if I sleep early in the night and wake up in the night. Even if I sleep around 9PM, I would still wake up at around 10-11AM. Its just that my body is used to hibernating during the morning that it doesnt matter whether Id get more than 10 hours of sleep. I would still sleep through the morning. Unless I force myself to wake up at a certain time in the morning and that just makes me cranky at times, and at times very disoriented.

My normal hours of sleep pattern is from 1:30am to 7:30am. This equals 6 hours of sleep. Average is 8 hours of sleep. I know I need to practise sleeping early and have a minimum of 8 hours to maintain good health.

8 hours are the best deal for me, less than 7 would ruin the rest of the day.

I sleep less than 6 hours too. so many things I have to do before I going to sleep, and I think the biological clock make me waking before the time I used to go to bed. and I have to get up in the very earily morning. 6 or 5 hrs sleeping, I think someday it will make me weak and sick, But the life pressure make you have to face it.

My daughter is over a year old now and is getting used to her bedtime at 9p.m. She is in bed and asleep by at least 9:15p.m. so then i relax til about midnight and wake up at 7 a.m. and I feel just fine til 10:00 p.m. rolls around then I am ready for a good one hour nap. I have never ever in my life had a day that I felt like i have had enough sleep. Most people say that they wish they could have at least 6 hours of sleep a day and they would feel amazing but umm I am not on of those people I guess. I need about 8 or 9 or I am useless the next day.

we are actually pretty much alike, i sleep for 6 hours as well, sometimes even less.... its just that i cant wait to wake up again lol. I always felt i didnt get enough sleep as i would always wake up after 6 hours of less until i read this book, cant recall its name but still have it in my computer somewhere, anyways it claimed that it is not important to get 8 hours and infact 8 hours sleep can make you feel tired when you wake up, which i can agree on as whenever i sleep for 8 hours i wake up all tired and grumpy, so i would say that it is not really important that you MUST get 8 hours, it is important that you get quality sleep and that can also be 6 hours.

I sleep somewhere around 4-5 hours at night. I do not have any problem with less sleep and can do my day to day work perfectly. Less sleep helps me to get more time to do things that I like like being here in mylot, playing games, etc. When I have insomnia I do not sleep at all for a day or two.

Six hours is good enough for me. sleeping eight hours is ideal but at the rate we're going, a six hour sleep is more than enough. I think as you grow older you sleep less and less. Cheers!
