A week ago Sammy Sosa was at the Latin Academy Person of the Year event in Las Vegas a week ago. I saw a photo of him form the event on the internet and went into shock! Sosa looked like he was trying to look like Michael Jackson did! Sosa looks was a bigger fake this he is(I know he used steriods!)! He also looked phoney and plasticy! He said he's using a cosmetic cream on his face to soften the skin and that is why he looks lighter! I don't buy it and when he gets even lighter he better come clean! That is not a skin softener doing the skin lighting! It's because of all the steriods he used over the years and that has caught up with him! Jerk!

Why does it matter if Sosa is purposely trying to lighten his skin or not? Most people would not think it was odd or "wrong" for a light-skinned person to slather on tanning lotion and lay out in the sun to achieve a darker skin tone. So why isn't it ok for dark-skinned people to lighten their skin if they want to? It's just skin color. Many factors can cause skin lightening to occur. As a kid, my skin used to turn a golden tan when I went out in the sun. After I went through puberty, my skin changed to very pale and I could not get a tan no matter how hard I tried. Instead I would get very bad sunburns instead and my skin is still that way. So, you see, sometimes these changes in skin color occur naturally and can't always be blamed on the use of steroids or topical creams. I do not claim to know about Sosa's situation. His skin color may have changed due to the steroids or to a cream, or due to natural changes in his body. I can't really understand why it matters so much to people that his skin color has changed.

You sound like you are not a baseball fan. That would explain why you don't get the discussion!

I agree with you here. he is trying to hide the fact that he took steroids. This is a guy trying to change his looks. it is shame and what about his family what do they think of it. If he has children what is telling them that his color is wrong? Not a good message for young children who look up too him. I wish he turn it around and help the less forunate like setting up a clinic to help girls and boys learn about the game of baseball etc. I hope he does not turn out like Michael Jackson years down the road. Have great night Sincerely Unique16

Thanks for agreeing with me! I would like to know how his family feels too! Sosa is sending the wrong message! I don't like it when athletes get selfish and greedy with money and don't help out others who need the help! It is a shame and Sosa should be a shamed of himself! Only time will tell if Sosa ends like MJ! Thanks for the response!
