I have seen the promotional advertisement's on the windows 7 operating system, and of course they look and seem so great but I wounder if this newer version of windows works as well as they say?
Well are you using the new windows 7 program and if so whats your opinion of the operating system do you like it, and to those of you who haven't tried it yet would you like to???

IMO windows 7 is a better alternative to xp than vista since this has
a very good performance.

Well I experienced both and I feel even though windows 7 is better than vista it isn't better by far.
Its just a little less of a resource hog.
Its more pretty and has a polished look.
Bit more features,
But in spite of all this I don't find it better than windows XP.
For gaming I need every tiny bit of speed and the 3dmark score difference between XP and windows 7 is 150 points!
Unless that difference is less why would I change to windows 7?(personally)
But it does have its pluses.

I've personally used Windows 7 and did some tests on it. There are a lot to say about windows 7. If you want, just read my article "Introduction to Windows 7" at www.pcloverstalk.blogspot.com

I have been using Windows 7 ever since the first Beta download became available and I am quite impressed by it.
The system has many new features and the integrated programs are of a high standard. With previous operating systems by Microsoft I usually installed third party programs for such tasks as playing videos, recording disks etcetera, whereas with Windows 7 I am very content to use the supplied features.

Well I have read lots of good reviews for the past few days and even before they were in Beta mode many are saying it can be compared to the XP OS. Vista became a failure so I guess Microsoft would know what works and what doesn't with their experience with the Vista OS. I do hope that these new OS would be a much better version of XP and Vista.

It's supposedly meant to be good with more features that are would have been good on windows xp. I think its reception was better than when vista was released. I remember the whole dispute of how xp or vista was better. So I guess Microsoft are releasing a better operating system that isn't filled with bloatware. I would like to try it but being a gamer, there are quite a few compatability issues for some games and Windows 7 so right now, I'd like to stick with windows XP.

Hello apples99! I've been using Windows 7 for a couple of months (including beta testing) and I have to say that I'm pretty satisfied with it. Despite many people say that Windows 7 isn't resource thirsty as Vista is I can't confirm it because it uses pretty much the same amount of resources (CPU power and RAM), but it seems like it is using them much better. There aren't any delays in opening multiple windows or so. It works like a charm. Installation took only 15 minutes and Windows were ready to use, drivers are installed automatically and almost every type of hardware is supported. You should definitely switch to Windows 7 no matter which version of Windows you are using. I forgot to add that Windows 7 has some nice features like XPM that allows you to have virtual instance of Windows XP in case some of your applications won't work with Windows 7. Before using XPM check if your CPU is supported! Take care and happy mylotting! I hope my answer was helpful.

I should say.. they nearly do work as they promise.. One thing I can assure is that Windows 7 performs much better than Vista - It is lesser errorsome, less resource thirsty - more backward compatibility - better gaming experience.. (newer games show considerably improved performance when run on Windows 7..)
These are result from short term testing.. I wonder whether Windows 7 will stand the test in a long run... (whether it gets slow down every day like the previous windows versions..
I recommend.. to try the beta version of windows 7 (free) and see how it feels to handle the OS.. Hope my views help!

Windows 7 is one of the best operating systems going it is so much faster than Vista even Internet Explorer is faster. There is so much more you can do with windows 7 I much prefer it. I used a trial version on my laptop and have just bought a new version for my desktop. I would certainly recommend it.
