fresh vege vs cooked vege: which is better for you?

i eat lots of fresh vegetables when they are in season. i eat lots of cooked vegetables when tey are off season. how do i knwo that i am getting all the nutrients that i need?
i heard from some friends, saying that cooked vege is nutrient less than fresh ones.
but it is able to make it more nutrient , is it?
how about you all?

Rather than thinking what is better, I would prefer what tastes better. In case of vegetables, cooked ones are tastier & hence I prefer cooked ones.

I've heard the same thing as you have: that sometimes cooking veggies can cook the NUTRIENTS out of them, especially boiling. Raw veggies are definitely better than cooked veggies in my mind, also, because usually when they're cooked - we tend to add a lot of stuff to them - cheese, butter, salty seasonings, and so on. Raw is definitely better. But taste wise? I definitely prefer cooked.
