With the ending of the Harry Potter series it seems that "wrock" bands are going on hiatus. This disheartens me a great deal. I love wrock during all times of the year.
However, I am hoping (and think it would be a good idea) to perhaps have a large wrock tour this upcoming summer for the "beginning of the end" if you will--as in the release of part one of Deathly Hallows.
Does anyone agree with me? Also, if you are a "wrocker" reading this, you should come to Syracuse, NY if you feel like going on tour anytime soon.

Meep! You are missing out I'm afraid! Wizard rock (wrock) is a collection of musicians who write songs about the Harry Potter series. There are tons of bands (Harry and the Potters, The Remus Lupins, The Moaning Myrtles, The Butterbeer Experience). Of course I have a few favorites, but the songs in themselves are actually very good. Also, the concerts are a great way to have fellowship with other Harry Potter fanatics. I have met and made so many friends through these gatherings as well as gotten closer to other friends. It's best to read the books before you get into wrock though since alot of the songs deal with specifics that the film watchers wouldn't understand.
However, some are fun to listen to either way. From Harry and the Potters there is "Save Ginny" which is about how Ron and Harry have to rescue Ginny from the basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets. I found a YouTube video for it if you wish to check it out (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AE6c0sgVCog). It truly is a huge community and does a great deal online so there are plenty of YouTube videos and MySpace and Facebook pages with song samples.

That would be amazing if there was one of these "wrock" tours! I was in love with Harry Potter for a while, and when I found out there was actually a band called Harry and the Potters I just about flipped. It's cool that they can actually sing, too! Draco and the Malfoys are pretty cool as well. I think that anything related to Harry Potter would be a success!
