How may times have you been hit by ur teacher ?

Thankfully for me, that kind of stuff was outlawed before I was old enough to attend school. with the way things are nowadays, it's very hard to imagine a time when teachers were actually allowed to physically punish their pupils. Unfortunately, I personally think there is a considerable lack of discipline in schools these days. The pupils no longer have respect for the teachers, and are completely unaffected by the punishments schools are allowed to dish out (detentions, suspension etc.), so they have no hesitation in re-offending. The school I attended, there was fortunately only a minority of really misbehaving students, because most of us generally just got on with our educations and tried to stay in line.

When I was going to school over 20 years ago, the teachers were allowed use corporal punishment. I got beaten with a cane on a number of occasions. Nothing as bad as some others, but bad all the same. Things are much much different now! happy myLotting

yes. i was very famous in that field . I was very weak in maths and thats why my maam used to hit me regularly as i never used to do my homework. not a severe punishment but to get out of the class, or to be taken to the principal and hitted by scales or beating was common even sit ups.

i am a strong believer that corporal punishments do no good to learning.i was a very good student .so sincere that would cry to be at school on holidays or well taken sick.when i was in the fourth grade.the boy sitting besides me happened to forget his homework copy. this infuriated the maths teacher so much that he started beating him badly. he was so engrossed in beating him that he failed to see that he had struck me once during the process. it had cut deep into my skin and i got so scared of the incident that i ran fever and nursed a perpetual fear of maths and maths teacher.till class 10th also i had that fear.

I've never been hit by a teacher, lucky. That stuff is illegal here. If you do that, you can be charged with child abuse. The worse punishment I got from a teacher was detention. That was it.

I've come close to having in-school suspension because of failing to go to after school detention. I didn't have family members that could drive at the time so quite often I would have to skip out. I remember hearing my name once on the list students who had it, and I had to go to the office and try and figure some way out of it. My school was a boarding school, and I was a day student. Most teachers wouldn't be willing to give me a lift home, and the buses didn't make return trips eaither. Once I explained the situation, people were careful not to give that to me because I couldn't stay. Not unless I made plans a week in advance, to make aragments and back up aragments to get home. I mean I couldn't stay either because I wasn't prepared to have to spend the niht at school. No child should have to be prepared for that, over detention. At least I don't think so. But, no there was nothing suvere really except in-school suspention. By the time I'd started school, physical punishment was outlawed in schools.

many times, actually they did not beat us instead gave us a severe punishment or put us out of the class, actually I was addicted to it and these punishments hold no importance to me. We were given sit ups with bags on our head, or kneel down etc especially out side the class to insult us infront of the whole school.

hi velocity I am in the US here in California and no I have only been struck once when I was down in the five grade.many years ago and myteacher struck me across the knuckles and cut the flesh with a metal rimmed ruler. I went to my dads office in tears, he was the to wn's doctor, and told him. He fixed my hand then he took me back to the teacher. He yelled at her,if you ever strike my child again,I will see to it you will not teach again. is that clear, now I am taking my child home. She never touched me again. now there are laws prohibiting teachers from hitting their students. sorry you had to be hurt by your teachers like that.

Hi, velocity_186. No, I have never received a severe punishment. But a teacher once spanked me with a paddle. I don't know what I did to get one. I can't remember. I was so embarrassed because I thought that we should only get a paddling from the Principal. If you have been hit, then this teacher should be fired. They school board should not let things like this take place.

In my country teachers aren't allowed to hit their students, and I have never been hit by a teacher. Before 1967 teachers were allowed to hit the students, and I know that my grandparents and other member of my family have been hit by teachers in the past. Some time ago I read about an incident in my country where a teacher hit the students, and the parents became very angry. They complained and insisted that the school fire the teacher,but the school didn't want to fire the teacher, and I don't know how the story ended.

a lot when i was young....... now they are not allowed to hit kids in schools.....

Very good post dude. Interesting topic too. I have been hit by teachers many times. I have done all sorts of mischievous in my school days that i often get hit by teacher and used to get lot of punishment for various reasons. I was too naughty in school.All the teachers used to complain about me to my parents. Oh man!! those days were awesome!!!
