Our Moms or our Mothers are the best in the world. She could be a best friend,
a sister, a confidant, a guidance counselor and most of all the most trusted person anyone could possibly have. I wrote this poem for my Mom on Mothers' Day and published it in our local newspapers here in the Philippines, particularly in Cebu City where I spent and stayed most of my adult life.
Just like our Dads, we need not shower them with any material gift but they will appreciate it more if we respect and honor them they do so deserve. You believe so? I may not be as close to Mom as I was to my Dad, but with all honesty, this is what i felt when she was still around. I titled it ---
I LOVE YOU MOM!
How are you Mom?
Wherever you are?
Together with Dad
I know you're both fine.
Wait for us
When that big day comes
So, we could be together as family, again
And be worthy citizens to enter God's kingdom.
I missed the days
When you were still around
The way you comforted me
I can feel it in my spine all the time, Mom.
I know you're at peace now
Where you lied in state
Together with Dad
Happy and peaceful
When you said your tearful.....Goodbye.
Next to Dad, I love you Mom
Hoping you felt it, when you were still with us
I may not often show you, how much I cared for you
But silently,I'm thankful to the good Lord
And am so proud for having a Mom,like you.
Sorry Mom, if I did you wrong
Unknowingly hurt your feelings, I am so regretful
I hope you've forgiven me from life beyond
I'm really missing you a lot, even until now.
Thank you Mom for all the love and care
That I've treasured with me all through the years
Your laughter and soft voice would echo form time to time
Meaning to say, I still can hear you
Till the day I die, Mom.
Flaunt it and let them hear you sing different tunes
'Cause you've the best singing voice I've ever heard Mom
For sure Dad and your friends will be delighted and glad to hear
They will cheer for you in chorus and would say.... ENCORE!!!
And would ask for more and more.....
Please do take care of Dad
Wherever you are and whenever you can
That's your ultimate role in life
To stand by your one and only man.
I know you're in a special place somewhere now
And because of your union
God will bless you and Dad
With life eternal,........ my Dearest Mom.

How about that for a poem to our Moms? Did I convey the message
I felt inside straight to your heart? If I missed something, what do you
think will it be? Did I serve the purpose in writing this poem? What
other adjectives or descriptions you could possibly have for our Moms?
If you liked this particular poem, please rate me fairly and I would be
forever grateful to you. Please do remember, too - that without our Moms
and Dads as what we call them parents - we're absolutely... nothing.

11.15.09 for Ms. or Mr.Raiyandhaka (249)
hello and good morning to you from the Philippines.
thank you so much for the nice comment about the poem for my Mom. And
I know you were able to relate it too, as your own, dear.
If Mom could have been around today, she could have been happier for
the kind of poem I wrote for her.
I would say, not only our Mom, but our Dads too are the best graduates
of all times, being our first educators who mold us to be good citizens in this
world and have guided as to the right path that we are leading. We always
give credit to our Moms for they deserve the best in the this world.
I hope you read my poem too I wrote for Dad and the other poems I blogged
here on my lot. Again, thank you so much for the time and space in reading
them just the same, I'll be forever grateful to you as well. God bless!

I don't quite understand why you're looking for good ratings. A good, true poem isn't about what everyone else thinks of it - its what you're feeling when you sit down to write that personal note of affection. You don't always need good adjectives - and how would we know what you missed writing about with your relationship with your mom? Obviously you and your mother had your hardships and I believe the question your asking us is what you in turn need to ask yourself.
Take a moment out to remember your mother from time to time - try not to forget her in everyday life... and you'll have all kinds of memories... think about which things meant the most to you - whether it was cooking or playing, or a special song she song - thats when you'll find the true way to describe your mother and what she meant to you :)

Good morning Maam! 11.12.09
Thank you so much for the comment and I appreciated it very much for being responsive to my work, especially to a poem i wrote for my Mom, and yours, too.
When I said rating? i didnt mean it figuratively, maybe i chose the wrong term.
What I mean to say is - comment me on the way how I described her. I was never perfect as a daughter, and never bad as well, though Ive a lot of fond memories when she was still around, Words aren't enough to thank her for all what she did
for me and the rest of her brood.
Again, thank you so, so much ms. shell2784 God bless you always!
