Boxing just happened to be my favorite sport specially since a lot of Filipino boxers are coming out and making names for themselves. However there is gambling related to it, as being practiced a lot of my friends and colleagues tried to bet on who will win the fight. I heard even politicians do this. So far I have not tried putting a bet on the winning fighter. What about you? do you make a betting on any championship bouts in boxing? especially with the coming fight of Manny and Cotto?

hi ybong007!!!
yes i do bet on boxing matches especially matches by manny pacquiao. i'm unsure how many times i've place a bet on pacquiao but i'm sure that i've made a lot of cash from his fights. i always bet for pacquiao, never against him. i usually bet on a manny pacquiao outright win and a proposition bet on pacquiao to win by knockout. sometimes i bet on the over/under rounds but i seldom do that anymore. the only time i bet on pacquiao to win by knockout was when he fought here in manila at the araneta coliseum against david diaz if i'm not mistaken. in the pas two fights of pacquiao, i've made my usual bets on him but also made round bets. this is the type of bet where you try to predict at what round pacquiao will win. i lost on the oscar dela hoya fight but won on the ricky hatton fight as i had a bet on manny pacquiao to win in rounds 1-6 and pacquiao knocked the lights out of hatton in round 2!!!
of course, i'm looking forward to place ny bet on pacquiao in the fight this sunday (manila time). of course, i'll bet on pacquiao to win outright and also to bet on pacquiao to win by knockout. haven't decided yet what rounds to bet on pacquiao but most likely it will be between rounds 6-10.
cheers!!!

maybe they bet on dela hoya that's why they lost? lol!!!
i have accounts in different off-shore books but i also use a local sportsbook. if you want to make a bet on the pacquiao-cotto match, you can try the differnet philweb outlets as well as the casino filipino branch at paranaque.
friendly reminder, don't bet over your head. good luck to you should you decide to bet.
cheers!!!

Hey ybong. I have never tried that, and I don't think I will ever. Well, at least as of now. I know a lot of people who does though, to the tune of not even hundreds of thousands but to the tune of millions! That's a lot of money. Whoa. Some luxury huh... :D

Me too I think gambling is not for me, not only does it make nervous I seem to lose in everything gambling related. So I just stick to cheer for pacquiao. Those who can afford to bet millions as people who don't know how to spend their money unless there's a miracle and all of them decide to donate all those bets to the poor then what a better world this would be that's another story LOL. Anyway thanks for sharing your thoughts. Cheers!

Well I only watch boxing whenever manny would fight, but, if it was other matches I am not interested at all. of course if I would bet i would always bet for Manny. But since I am not a boxing fan I usually enjoy watching the fight of Manny only after that life is back to normal again.

No because I don't have money to bet. I looking forward for the fight this coming Sunday. Yes I agree gambling always related in boxing especially the politicians that been there in Las Vegas now. For sure Philippines going to be peaceful once again this coming Sunday because all of us are watching the fight of Manny Pacquiao. Cotto is very airy and boastful let see his power this coming Sunday when he is going to last to Manny Pacquiao.

I don't bet either as it makes me nervous. I hope Manny wins so he can prove to world again that he is a fighter and not a chicken unlike his previous opponents who keeps on talking and only ended up eating their words after hitting the canvass LOL. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!
