I believe it :D. I heard that it wasn't the end of the world, but the end of the world as we know it. As in world peace or world destruction. So what if you haven't what's preventing you from starting to live your life starting now?

Who knows? The thing that scares me a little bit is that the Mayans were very very intelligent. There are so many unanswered questions in relation to their theories. I believe they were gazillions of years ahead of us in the intelligence department and I am curious as to whether anything will happen. Like someone mentioned above, it might not exactly be armageddon or how the end of the world is portayed in the movies but it maye be the end of an era. World Peace? I highly doubt it but we can only hope.

The Mayans religion had to do with their interpretation of the zodiac and the entities they were in contact with. The entities that required blood sacrifices. I would say to read and study the bible, and ask God to show you the truth. Movies sometimes put images in your mind and inflict fear in your heart. I would suggest starting a personal relationship with Jesus. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. According to the biblical prophecy Jesus will one day return to earth and collect the saints. Why? Because the delusion and deception in the world will be too much for people. Do I believe the Mayans.... I question who the Mayans were getting their information from. I do not believe it was from God the creator of all things. No one knows the day the world will end, only God himself. Read the bible and study for yourself, pray about it. Start to compare biblical prophecy, places in the bible, and Gods promises. I can't accept that we should live in fear because the Mayans have an incomplete calendar.

So the Mayan calendar runs out in 2012. That means another cycle is starting. You do not freak out every December 31st because your calendar is running out, you go get a new calendar for the next cycle. It is just their cycles last longer of course, like out decades and centuries. Odds and sods have been predicting the end of the world for centuries, obviously they have been wrong.

before few month i heard that info from one of my friend. i heard that some one Mr.Patrick geryl believe and said world will be end 2012. he point this from maya cyclical calendar. i was forgotten that really. but after saw and read your discussion i just remember it again, now I'm feeling worried to think about our next generation and so many sweet kids.

well the mayans havent failed at any of their predictions yet but i hope they fail at this one!! as their first wrong

For me, it is just like the movie independence day or the likes kind of movie. It's a movie that would convince you they are the truth but in fact they are just bits of information that was tagged together to create a monstrous scenario of end of the world kind of story. So for now, you don't need to worry that much and continue on with your life. Enjoy every bit of it and if ever 2012 came to be at least you can say to yourself that you have enjoyed the last 2 years of your life. If it does not happen at least you have not wasted your 2 years to worrying that the world would end. It is your choice.

No, I really don't believe it. I don't think we know when the world will end. It'll happen when it happens and probably when we're least expecting it.

No. It is absolutely ridiculous. No one can predict when the world is going to end. It is all a rubbish stuff. people told that the world would be ending after 2000 but it nevcer happened and then the Y2K problem arised and all the other stupified sotries we heard. But the world never ended nor it is going to end. If we can predict in 2012 that the world is going to end, it must have been declared centuries ago. just to create hype, they are creating all sort of nuicance stories..

Don't panic. Don't believe. Don't bother. Enjoy your life and concentrate on other things that are really important to you. This type of news do come every now and then to get some attention may be. Or whatever. So why are you getting so upset? Okay, for a moment- suppose this is true and some blah blah is going to happen at that particular date; so what? Can you do anything about it? Can we do anything about it? When you believe in future and astrology and this kind of freaky stuff then you should stop bothering because you can't change the future. As they say, it is said so that will happen. So why bother?

No, it the world will not end in 2012. Remember the Millenium-bug when we entered year 2000 ? Everybody was so scared that the world's system might freak-out, electricity will stop, planes will crash in the sky, etc-etc...but nothing happened, right ? The Bible's prophecy has not jet been fulfilled, so take it easy for awhile. Though, yes, the early signs are there. The world coming to recession, more people die, wars and wars....! So, that's why we have to be wise, and spend each day with a grateful heart, thanking God He still gave you a chance. Actually, the big fright is : Do you know when you are going to die ? You can die anytime. I had friends who went to work cheerfully and came home in a coffin. So, be wise. Being scared and terrified won't help you a bit, my dear.

ahhh yeah i heard of it! They also made a movie called "2012" and I think its being released into movie theaters tomorrow. But I kinda think its a bit early to end by 2012. I don't think its really going to happen. Wouldn't be amazed if nothing happened on that day.

saw the movie yesterday... I hate those kinds of movie cuz they creep me out... after watching those movies I always tend to think alot about how it would be like and how I would feel... well one thing I can tell you is that Not even the Mayas believe in the end of the world... it's just their Calendar stops... because in 2012 the planets will align and well it was hard for them to predict how the stars will be after that so they just stopped the calendar there. So yeah... so that's what they say. I think just people overreact when they hear about the end of something automatically the end of the world... Even if the world would "die"... mankind will die but the species here on earth will survive...

i'm not even worried about it.there could have been a "continued on next rock" they just haven't found yet.there's been doomsayers as long as there's been language.

I don't really believe it. For me, 2012 is just like any other year that is going to pass and I won't be scared when the time comes. I don't think anyone knows the real date and year for the end of the world. But I do realize that the world is becoming more in danger like in terms of pollution and etc.

I don't believe it. I also read an article in the newspaper yesterday regarding what the film says about the end of the world in 2012. Professor's in this field have looked into it and there is no substance to that calendar as the person said our calender will finish at the end of this year but we start another one next year. So I certainly would not worry about it. Enjoy your life.

there is nothing to fear really. what can 1 person do to prevent something like that from happening if it happens. so no i am not freaked out by that kinda thing from taking place
