Can you spend hours on end watching anime?

I used to be able to spend hours doing nothing but watch anime. I think the longest time ever for me was spending 13 hours of doing nothing but watch anime. The only breaks I took was a bathroom or snack break. That was back in the days though. Nowadays, the longest time for me would be a few hours. I can't seem to concentrate on the show after a few episodes. I'm always getting distracted by something else. Maybe this is a sign of my obsession weakening? I mean, I'm still an anime fan but I'm not as rabid as I used to be.

Haha, definately.
During the summer, I crammed a bunch of anime, one including Welcome to the NHK. I was introcduced to that by a friend and was immediately hooked on it. Finished at least most of that series in a day. So bout 9-10 hours.
Right now during the school year, its gone down dramatically, maybe 1.5 to 2.5 hours a week =/

Haha...I used to be like that. I've actually stayed up all night before watching anime. The bad part was that I had to work early the next morning so I had to suffer from lack of sleep and everything. Nowadays, I'd be lucky if I can get one anime episode a day which is a bit surprising.

I can't spend hours on end watching anime. That's because I'm not into it. I'm not a fan, and I'd most rather spend my time doing something that is more productive. Nothing against people who are into anime. I just can't spend hours on end with it, much less an entire hour with it.

If you read what I wrote, clearly, I said I have nothing against anyone that is into anime. This is a place to discuss and not everyone will agree to the questions or subjects that is asked here but there is no rule against it because we're all here to participate.
If I offend you with what I've said, I apologize, however, I would say it is uncalled for to reprimand me on responding to a topic just because I am not a fan. Is that such a big problem that you had to comment in such a way? I don't think so.
As I said, to each his own. I have nothing against anime but it is just not my thing.
Read your original response and maybe you will understand. "I don't see why you responded to this topic" - need I say more? Good day to you.

I know the feeling!! I had some anime marathons of my own, watching hours upon hours, noght or day, didn't matter. I remember that once i went to an exam after watching Kaikan Phrase all night. Amazingly enough I got an A+ so my passion did not affect my studies after all.
Now I don't watch anime so much but only because i lack the time. This usually happens untill i find a series that interests me, because when that happens i forget about sleeping or eating again.
Can anyone recomand me a good anime that is not ongoing?I'm open to new suggestions

Reverse harem eh??? Can't say I'm a fan of the harem genre. But there's Fushigi Yugi, La Corda D'Oro, and Ouran Host Club. You might not like the first one though. That one's a bit full of drama and sappiness. Plus, Miaka is annoying. I haven't seen a lot of La Corda so I don't really know how that one turns out. Host Club is a funny one though. You might like that one.

Well, i like comedy ones the most I guess. I'm not much into drama anime. Or slice of life. The only ones I did watch were Nana and ParaKiss because I love Ai Yazawa's drawing style.
I also like history anime, but what i love the most are reverse harem anime.
Just feel free to recomend anything you lik , because I'm usually very open to any kind of suggetions regarding anime.Even if they are echi or yuri, or yaoi, doesn't matter.

Depends on the series! I can watch pretty much any kind of show for hours on end, but usually I'm also multitasking...or I literally have nothing else to do.
It really really really helps to like the series though.

Once I saw the whole season of Elfen Lied in one day. But aside fro, one episode of Bleach a week, I don't watch anime anymore. And I think I'll quit on Bleach too since it's getting really bad.

My record is probably around 12 hours. Yea.. I totally miss those days of slacking @ home watching anime. Nowadays, I need to work so I don't have as much time. I will try to watch a couple of episodes every night and I'll go on a few hours marathon in the weekend if I'm free.

I can go up to 12 hours. Unless my mother actually scolds me to stop watching, I won;t probably stop. I also can't do activities without actually watching anime first. I think I must know the whole story before I could do other stuff, even if it means studying for a test

Well, it depends on the quality and how it suits to your liking. Personally, I watch only a handful of anime shows. But each anime show I watch would keep me watching till my eyes hurt or till I've finished watching all the episodes. I once spent a whole summer break watching "One Piece" from start till the latest episode and given the time I'll do just that to watch the rest of the episode. For me it's brilliant, but I can't spend that much time on the likes of "Naruto" or "Bleach" simply because I'm not a fan.
Personally, I think if you find an anime show that would interest you enough then the fire will come back. That normally happens. But if it doesn't, then you preferences have changed and you might want to seek that kind of passion on something else.

Oh wow, I'm going to have to give you props for being able to watch all those One Piece episodes. I don't think I can do that. And as for your other comment, I think you're right. There just hasn't been anything that has caught my attention lately. Not that there aren't any good shows or anything.

I can if it's an enticing series of episodes, and I'm focused on the show. I don't know if I have as much time anymore to do it all that often, which is why I'm so behind on lots of series I was watching.
