Hi debbie. I was wearing glasses for 15 years and then contacts for another six years before I had laser done on both my eyes at the same time. I had short sight and my power was -6.5 and -7. The treatment lasted about twenty minutes and I could immediately see things clearly without glasses. But you have to follow the instructions very very carefully and not strain your eyes for atleast a month or two. I would advise you to check with an eye doctor first.
Now it has been 6 years since the treatment and there has been no problem since then till now. Hope you found this useful. All the best.

I am also near-sighted. But I don't consider to have the laser operation to cure my eyesight problem. Although it seems common today, but I am still afraid of the accidents. After all, the eyes are very important. I don't mind wearing glasses. I can't afford the accidents.
I love China

hi friend, even i too used glass initially, now lense, depending upon your power choose your option if its less than 5 you can use lens and glasses itself,i know its difficult to maintain ,i heard that you can go for laser operation only once in life, that too if you have very higher power ,there is a chance of getting power again. So please consult with doctors
