I think it will surpass all windows versions but not soon. Living in a third world country many people here are stock on windows XP. Many can't afford to buy the new OS because it's so expensive for us. In fact many people here just use a pirated copy of windows because of it's high price. And I'm not only talking about personal use. Many internet shops business establishments here uses a pirated copy of windows XP here. Haha.

i have used the evaluation version of windows-7. I found windows 7 to be pretty interesting. The operating system is much more user friendly than its previous versions i mean every running process is in your fingertip. The best thing is that in this version, microsoft has solved various compatibility issues that was a major problem in Vista. But the main thing u have spoken about is the cost Microsoft has to definitely think about it. If this issue is solved, people will accept windows-7 with open heart.

well to be very honest you cannot say anything about it..i mean you can never be sure of it....we have wait and watch...because i remember the same thing happened at the time of launching of windows vista...but it was all hype n we all knew what happened to it after that..for me windows xp is still the best..because it runs almost all the application and software....but still i would like to give windows 7 a try..because after all it is a microsoft product...
