whats the point of making a movie about 2012 end of the world

Well, there are a lot of movies pertaining to the end of the world and they're using possible evidences or facts like "Armageddon", "The day after tomorrow", and more. The only difference of the movie 2012 is that Mayan, which are one of the first people predicted that this will happen. I'm looking forward to watch it because I like those kind of movies, I remember the controversial movie "The Da Vinci Code".

Maybe they want to put fear on peoples minds. When people have this thought of the world is gonna end soon they will do things to enjoy life or live life to the fullest. Money will be flying here and there. Maybe they made this movie so people will spend money on something. Business will be good for business men. Haha. That's only a wild thought. Anyway I'm pretty sure that the movie 2012 was made for the main purpose of earning money out of it. shadow41

2 years from now, odds are the world, and us, will still be here. I'll be glad when 2013 gets here so we can finaly be done with all this 2012 nonsense, I'll just go buy another calender like I do every year.
