For many of you who were around before the internet, do you remember what life was like before you could get online? Share your thoughts.... Maybe those who have had internet all their lives will learn something...or maybe not. Thats OK. How about we start a new calendar system with maybe the first year the internet was accessible as 1, A.I. (After Internet) and the year before that as 1, B.I. (before internet). There is no doubt that the internet has affected life here on this planet...... Share your thoughts.....

Yes, I remember. It was a great time for me. that was about 7-8 years ago, I was in the school and every day I play with my friends. that was really great- we've played hide and seek, cards, ride a bicycle. Than came the internet and we spended not so much time as before. And I'm glad that I've dicovered the internet so late, because the younger than me, spend more and more time in front of their computers and I think that's sad. Thi kids must spend more time with their friends, and less time with the computers. Now the teenagers don't talk with each other eye to eye, they chat or make video calls, or talk through the phone. So I thinki the life before internet was more interesting and funnier.
Yes, it's true that internet gives us a lot of information and oportunities, but we musn't spend so much time in front of the computers. we must go often out, we must meet new people and our old friends. in the years before internet the community was more united and people care more for each other. It's also true that via internet you can meett people from all over the world, but in the most cases you can meet them face to face.

Hi, that's an interesting discussion, when I was in elementary school, there is no internet in my country, and all my clidhood live without internet, so I go out with friends, and watch TV, and do my homework through writting, and I slept early in the night. And the children now who have internet, they begin doing their homework through computer, and play games online, and they sleep late at night, because they want to play computer.

The internet has made a lot of things easier. It has become much easier to find information about all sorts of topics and it has become a lot eaisier to communicate with people from the other end of the world. I think that is one of the best things about the internet.
Before the internet I sent snail mail letters to my friends from Australia and New Zealand and they received them 2 weeks later. Now I can send them an email and that is lot faster. I am also able to chat to people who live far away without getting a huge phonebill, and that is great.
Before the internet I went to the bank or the post office to pay my bills, now I pay them online. Before the internet I bought a lot cds, now I download music instead etc.

well before i know how to use internet most everything is quite different i think.
before i know how to use internet i like to read newspaper but now i just go online.
also i seldom buy books from bookstore as i can just download e-book or pdf.
i can saw movie online as before this i need to bought it from video store.
many things have change and i think internet gave us more benefits to our life.

Well for one thing my hand writing was at least a 100% better then it is now..lol, I had to write everything and it was so neat and pretty now it is sloppy unless I really stop to think about it. Also I spent more time outside and I did not have as many headaches...you know I think I may just get off this stupid thing as soon as my work is done.

I've had the internet at home since I was about eight years old but I didn't really use it myself until I was about 12 or 13. I'm now 21. One difference I've noticed is that I rarely write complete sentences by hand anymore, and when I have to, my hand starts to ache! A lot of things are easier now though: staying in touch with people who live far away, buying things that aren't readily available locally, discovering new bands, etc. For better or worse, I couldn't imagine life without the internet anymore...
