Hello Everyone,
Everyone in this world is working hard to make his living. But at what age you can say that you can retire?
I mean retirement at a point of time you have generated enough wealth that you can spend your whole life without working.
I think that childhood and education comprises of 25% of our life and the next 40 % of our life is the time in which we have to take responsibility of our and our family's life and fulfill their needs by our earning. and the last 35% of our life you are unable to work efficiently
Give your ideas about early retirement.
Thanks from advance.

The job title and the pay is not always eye to eye! Lol! I think some industries deserve more money but that is all for the companies to decide. I think that we should work as many hours as we want, but that the money we get should be based on how hard we work, so as to say it should be based on job title and description not on minimum wage etc.

I don't think that I will ever become completely retired. But I think there will come a point in time where I am doing quite well with my rental properties and residuals on articles that I can pick and choose when I want to work. I was hoping to be at that point by the age of 45. But, I have been thinking of buying more properties. In that case, I may have to work a little harder a little longer. However, if I get lucky, they may actually make it easier if I can buy some of these foreclosure and tax sale properties that are up for bid right now.
At first, I think it will be pretty difficult to handle. But, once you get good people in the place, it will all be down hill.
I will keep my fingers crossed to be semi-retired by the age of 45 for now.
What about you? At what age do you think that you will be able to retire from employment?

From my understanding you can make some good money from rental properties! If you buy homes and then have them rented, well I know one person who was my grandparents neighbor for the longest time. Then he moved out and he had several rental properties already but decided to rent out his own house. The cost to rent slowly went up, right now I think it's $800 he charges for rent for such a small home! I remember trick or treating at his house and from what I remember of the inside it's not that big in room size either!
In any case retiring semi at the age of 45 is a good plan, and I hope you can achieve. I have small goals but am not sure how to go about them. I would like to be a graphic designer and sale my graphics $40.00 a set depending on how much time I put into making said graphics. If I do that, mylot, and of course my real job then I hope to have enough to be able to save a hefty amount each month and be able to buy things needed, as well as save for retirement!

I think that "early retirement" all depends on the want of the person. If they want to retire early they have to consider how much they have made at their jobs and also on retirement benefits. Can they live off the benefits given by the goverment to retire on? Here in the USA people get Social Security once they retire. Now if you want to retire you've got to consider how much your bills are in comparison to how much you can make by not retiring until later. Though some people may use alternate ways to make money after retiring. Online earnings, selling things, or getting a retail job.
I am not sure at what age I will retire but I hope that I will retire early instead of later. Though at the same time, I think that it all depends on which line of work I choose to take. Also, if My idea of a hobby filled job on the side kicks off, I may be able to still do that when I am older!
It also depends on my husband's retirement as well. Maybe he doesn't retire until later, or maybe he can retire early and support both of us as well and so in that case I could easily retire!

I think that government possitions retiring early and allowing for younger people to come in and work would be a good idea, but even so, I would wonder if this would help social security wise or not? or if it would have an effect on it at all?

Social Security is a government check given here in the USA to those who are retired or disabled... given that information, how do you now feel about it? Please do accept my apologies if I misunderstood your last statement to me!

Social Security (monetarily) based on social satisfaction, hmm.. That is to say that Social Satisfaction is doing things or buying things that is for entertainment... I am not sure what else to say to be honest.

I think more and more people are having to work and continue to work to make ends meet. This would most likely effect retirment but might not in some cases. Retirement Benefits may be dependant on whether you stay at the company or retire from it. Even so you can retire from one company and go on to work for another for part time work!

Nobody can entirely realize his ideals. You realize your target at some time. But you will have another higher target. There is no end to work and earning money. I think I will retire until I am 60 age.

I think I get what you are saying. Though you may have "targets" to reach you will find that with one target comes many other targets along the way am I right?

I do not think that I will ever really retire. I think that in the next couple years, I will be at the place where I don't need to make as much money. This does not mean that I can hang out at the golf course or fish all day. Work is about mental challenges as much as making money to support my family. I sacrificed my youth to be in this position, but I also had fun and adventures along the way.

i don't wanna retire early. as much as possible i wanna productive till the last day of my life. but i think though it will depend if upon retirement that i will get to enjoy to do things like traveling and other things that i dreamed of but if retirement means just sitting around at home i don't think that i will want to see my retiring. i will definitely want to be more productive throughout my life.

I personally have everything in place to enable me to retire at 40, life is for living not for working.
I have always been brought up to work hard and to look after my family financially.
By working hard and being sensible with money anybody should be able to retire when they want to retire.
Personally for me I am retiring in 6 years at 40, as I want to spend quality time with my kids without being too old to enjoy it.

Hi. I think I can retire when I'm about 50-55 years old. I think that's the optimal age a man can retire, because after that you are not so able. In my country the men can retire thierselfs at 63, the women at 60. But you must also have several years lenght of service( I think 20-25 years) and than you can maybe retire. But 63 years is too late. You are allready tired and the desire for something- travel, friends, is maybe gone. That's why I think that people should retire at about 50-55.

Though i'm not starting to work,it's hard for me to give you an accurate time for retirement.I should say before the age of 55 would be a good choice. We don't have such a long life spam to enjoy our retirement,so quit not too late. We should enjoy life rather than work and work till you die.

I think when one is working just for sake of money without liking the work, the thought of retiring or not working is frequent on the mind. But if you enjoy what you do, or when you are fired by the desire to accept challenges, you have no time for thoughts of retirement. An idle mind is a crazy mind. I don't understand how a person without any meaningful activity is going to spend time? If retiring means doing nothing useful, I would hate to retire. Thanks for the topic.

I am considering an early retirement at 45 maybe? I just hope things will be in line with i am hoping to be. i've been working for so long and more times were spent working to earn for a living that's why i want to make up for the lost time for my kids and husband--for my family. i want to spend the remaining days of my life for my family... a domesticated me...full time mom and wife! I am determined to retire early. I will still work at home --my crochet business!

I think I'll retire when I feel that I can no longer work. I like keeping myself busy and I am not really into early retirement. I would still work a little here and there, even if I didn't need to because I always believe in staying productive.
My boyfriend's father is in his 70s. He has a masters degree, too. He now works packing groceries in a store. Not that he has to. My boyfriend and all his siblings are in the medical field and they do give him financial support. My boyfriend's Dad just has this mentality to be productive to stay young. I admire him very much and I want to be just like him.

If I enjoy my work, I think that I will end up retiring at the regular retirement age. Even if I would have the possiblity of retiring earlier, I would do this simply because I would love my job and it is good to have a hobby. On the other hand, if I would not like my work and it is a hassel, as soon as there are enough funds I would be out of there.

Well tricky question. How much is enough? Or have you realised your next goal that was not planned? And by early retirement you mean stop work alltogether and just be lazy? I have heard people being depressed when they retire. I was thinking that I would retire when I was 30. 30 came and I am still working as enough was not reached. Now it is 40. But retiring to a work that I like with less hours and more free time yes. At 40 it is perfect.
