My BF and I went to see it this afternoon. I didn't put too much expectations on how good it would be as I have loved the movie for years and years and have seen many versions of it, many are butchered versions. I was soooo surprised at the movie.
It is just wonderful, and Jim Carey did a super job of acting. While we didn't see the 3D version, we still felt like we were in the scenes. Also, Disney tempered the scary scenes with humor...my BF who doesn't laugh out loud much was rolling in the aisle at some of the scenes.
I do agree that if you have a child that is easily frightened and prone to nightmares from scary movies, you might want to not take the child to this movie...but otherwise you will love it! I don't normally recommend movies, but when this one comes out on DVD I definitely will buy it!!! And it will be watched time after time year round, it is that good. In short, you've GOT to see it if you have a chance.

I saw it last weekend and enjoyed it. I saw it in 3D, as I saw the preview of it on the Christmas Carol Train Tour and knew the 3D was worth seeing. I really enjoyed it as a refreshing film adaptation of the story. I also will probably get it on DVD.

I would love to do the train tour, but it doesn't come close to where I live. Sigh, that's one of the drawbacks of living in a small town.
I hope that they will release the movie on dvd that you can watch in 3D. It would be so much fun!!! It is another that I would buy, just to have on nights that I want to watch something totally different.
