Why would a friend act lik this ?

A couple of days back I was talking to a long term friend and she asked my advice on were a single friend of hers might meet a man, the woman my friend was talking about isn't a friend of mine and I'm single too. Now the thing that really bugs me is anytime I have said anything to my friend about maybe not wanted to be alone, she's told me I'm better of alone, and things like I was being silly. So I guess what I'm saying is this friend seems to have one idea for me and another for other people ? My freind is marriied for many years. It just seems realy strange, I just keep thinking about it, what am I, some kind of advice bereau ? And shpuldn't I be looking after myself ?And I bet she hasn't told her friend that she's stupid for wanted to meet someone. I just cann't understand people with "double standards "
