hey, can you tell use what book you are reading right now? do you have any books that you would like to recommend to other people? share your views on books here. i have just finished reading a book called "Dear John" by Nicholas Sparks. like all of the other Nicholas Sparks' stories, the central theme of this novel are tragedy and love, if you can actually call it that. One thing i noticed about all the Nicholas Sparks novels that i've read is that the setting is always somewhere in North Carolina - which is where he lives. i think that this means he bases a lot of stories on his personal experiences as well as others that he has witnessed before. Because he is so familiar with the setting, he books are always very "reader-friendly" and easy to understand.

I am currently reading the Glenbrooke series by robin jones gunn. Its a christian series about love and God. Its really great. I have read it once but I know that I will be able to read it for the rest of my life and it will be just as powerful! when I was a teenager I read her Christy Miller series and It touched me in the same way. It really makes you think ... is there any such thing as a coincedence?? No .. I dont think so.

I am reading an old paperback, "One to One" the subtitle is "Self-understanding through Journal Writing" The author is Christina Baldwin. This is a great book explaning the benefits of keeping a journal, writing down whatever comes to mind once or twice a day, writing down whatever is on your mind. is a great stress reliever

I'm currently reading a collection of short stories by Will Self. Very black humour, very witty - exactly my kind of book! (Ahem...) I'm also reading 'Making Money' by Terry Pratchett, and the diary of a teenage girl who detonated her life on acid. That's quite a dark one, too...

I just read Merlin's Kin by Everett Coles a magical tale of 5 teens called to help their ancestor Merlin. They go through a doorway located at the bottom of an old shaft and fall into a new world where Camelot used to be. Here they find mammoths and unicorns, bigfoot and telepathic birds. They get split up and 2 are sold as slaves. They all find that by the power of the Ley lines they can do the most wonderful things. There are lots of twists and it's very clever. I enjoyed it that much that I am now reading their Historical novel called 'The Last Free Men' I got it to read on my Kindle from Amazon but I have found out it will be coming out next month as a paperback from Virtual Tales. I am getting it for Christmas because it is brilliant all about the Romans fighting against the Scots. If you read them let me know what you think, Bye for now Gavin
