A strange experience

I was lying in bed one Monday morning having just woke up. I turned to look at the clock radio to see what the time was as I turned towards it I caught a glance of a shadowy female figure that appeared to be either sitting on my partner ,who was lying next to me asleep,or standing at his side of the bed.
At this point the alarm went off and the figure disappeared very quickly. I got the impression that she did not want to be seen there. At first i thought I was seeing a shadow of something in our bedroom,but after having a good look round there was nothing that vaguely resembled the figure I saw.
I could not make out her facial features but she had short tight curly hair.
When I told my partner about it he said but my Mum had short curly hair (his mum died when my partner was just six).
Later that day he got out his mums mass card and showed my the picture on it. The photo was the image of the figure I had seen.
So what do you think? Do you think I saw his Mum or was my mind playing tricks on me?
Have you ever seen a family member years after they have passed away?

That would really scare me! I can believe it was his mom you saw, there's no proof that you didn't. If it was there for a good 20 seconds it's obvious if it was his mom that she wanted you to see her. Maybe to let you know she's watching? Or maybe just to check up on her little boy. Either way, if it didn't scare you, you're braver than I am. The one time I saw the shadow of someone I couldn't move.

it's possible that you saw your mom in ghost form. that's kind of scary! it's amazing that some people get really into this. i don't think i'd like to. i've always kind of wanted to. but when something scary happens, i am not brave enough to face it! there's lots of recorded stories like this. i mean, would you like to see fairies? i don't think so, not for me. i hear voices, and sometimes they say interesting things. but it is not like channeling. i don't know if i'd like to channel. it is nice to leave these things to experienced people.
but what is hard is that if you are interested in these things... but you still don't know what you're doing! it can be painful like this. but to go to psychics and stuff is hard too. i really don't know.
hopefully you won't get too wacked out.

No was not frighten at all as have had other thing happen to me and my family. My daughter regularly sees the ghost of our old cat. My son when younger saw a Victorian figure at the top of our stairs.
This is the first time I have seen a figure have only felt things before and would love to see it again just to ask who it was.

For exactly how long have you seen it? 1 second, 10 seconds...?
Did your partner felt anything strange while sleeping?
Did you feel any strange energy?
Was it frightening or not?

Must have been about 15-20 seconds no my partner did not feel anything that time but has experienced someone pushed and poking him when in bed in the past. Felt very calm and no did not feel frighten at all.

Oh! that must be scary. Your mind could not play a trick on you since you had never before seen the picture of your partners mom and the fact that the image that you saw resembled your partners mom proves that there are energies beyoun what we think and see.
